I called at very short notice wanted somewhere to stay with my dog.. well I was met with the most friendly and helpful staff. The hotel was quirky with so much character, homely and so clean. Yes it had a few issues with the plumbing but minor compared to overall stay. I would recommend to anyone wanting a warm happy...

Wonderful location with a view over the Royal Harbour. It's a quirky hotel with all sorts of interesting features. The two lounges are comfortable - a log fire was burning in one and there is a well stocked honesty bar. bedrooms are variable - be warned some doubles are very small with equally small bathrooms but ours had the bonus...

This place is friendly, clean and tidy and the food excellent. For a smaller but very well located hotel it aims at high standards in all aspects of its service. It has an eclectic charm and personality in the decor. There's attention to detail from the entrance to the tea and biscuits. Excellent value for money.

A little gem with lots of character. Eclectic decoration with lots of pictures. Comfortable rooms and sitting rooms in the public spaces. Warm welcome and attentive staff. Superb breakfast with excellent fresh fruit, honeycomb and brioche. We will be back.

We stayed 2 nights in a smallish but nonetheless comfortable room on the top floor with good views over the harbour. A little shabby chic in places but a very warm welcome with knowledgeable staff. The breakfast was a highlight probably one of the best we have had, and the oak honey was amazing! Will definitely return.

We were "upgraded" to a room which (literally) had space for one big fourposter bed. If it wasn't so awful it would be laughable. Our friends paid a little more for an Airbnb and got a whole house which was beautifully appointed. I normally only go Airbnb and hotels like this one are one of the reasons why. Overpriced, tawdry,...

We stayed here last year and returned for a night out with friends and had a lovely stay - we had one of the top floor rooms and found the bed very comfortable. A great welcome and the staff all seemed very friendly...it was nice to have a drink by the fire before we headed out for the evening....great stay...
