So good to return here once again, as ever the welcome from Neil & Lesley like family. Breakfast delicious, room very comfortable and a lovely lounge to relax in after a days' walking. So many walks from the door it is great to be able to leave the car behind. The signs of spring in the surroundings a joy to...

We stayed here as a party of nine people, six adults and three children between 11 and 16 years old. Leslie and Neil gave us a very warm welcome with hot drinks and home made cake when we arrived after which we were shown to our room. We stayed in Room Eight and it is extremely spacious, well lit, with...

The setting is idyllic. The labrador and chickens added to the ambience. Stone farmhouse and outbuildings. The efforts of the current tenants were above and beyond expectation. Our rooms comprised two bedrooms, a boot room and sitting room, all adjoined. Very clean and organised. Breakfast selection was excellent. Neil's poached eggs were perfect and many enjoyed the pancakes too. Considering...

We booked at short notice and stayed for 4 nights in the last week of February. The location is fabulous, wonderfully peaceful but close to the amenities of Ambleside (10 minute drive) and several choices for dinner a short drive away. We were there for a quiet break and some fell walking; there is plenty of choice nearby or even...

We joined friends for a reunion weekend at this property and the setting and the hosts were ideal. The property is beautiful, very clean and tidy with very comfortable rooms. Lesley and Neil could not have done more to make the weekend a pleasure for our group. The food was wonderful with vegetarians and vegans catered for without hesitation. The...

We decided to have a last minute night away in our favourite part of the world, the Langdale Valley. We occupied The Grain Room - a spacious warm and spotlessly clean bedroom with a little slate floor vestibule ideal for our little mini schnauzer to occupy in his bed carrier. He quickly made friends with the soft-pot resident Labrador called...

Lesley and Neil were so welcoming, friendly and interesting. We arrived late but Neil stayed up to welcome us from the rain outside, he had put the heating on to warm up our room for when we entered, that was a lovely welcoming feeling, especially when the weather was so terrible outside. Breakfast was great!!! Our room had a beautiful...

If you love the Langdales then this B&B will make you want to extend your stay. It combines stunning views, the convenience of being right on the Cumbria Way, a choice of excellent rooms and owners who really know how to look after their guests. We enjoyed the choice of a comfortable lounge in which to relax or a garden...

We had a lovely time, our room was very clean and plenty big enough for the three of us with great views from the guest lounge. Nothing was too much trouble plus our son really enjoyed feeding the chickens.

Glad to hear your stay was enjoyable for all the family. The hens are certainly very popular with our younger guests and at breakfast when their eggs are a highlight of the breakfasts. Thank you for your kind comments.

A bed and Breakfast right in the heart of the fells with many walks as well as on route for walking the Cumbrian Way. The Guest House is very homely, provides an excellent breakfast by friendly and attentive hosts, Neil and Leslie. The rooms are freshly decorated and with modern fittings. In the winter snuggle up to the fire. There...
