Just returned from a 2 night weekend stay at Rothay Manor, wow what a treat! This was a gift from our friends who were with us, along with their little dog. Everything about this place is just lovely, the staff, the rooms, the location and the FOOD!!! Our friends had visited this hotel before Christmas and picked it primarily because...

I don't normally write reviews, but afternoon tea today was so good I felt I had to write one! I've had afternoon tea in many places - from the Mayfair hotel London to Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh, but the afternoon tea we had at Rothay Manor is easily the best to date. The sandwiches (which in other places have been an...

We've been coming to the Rothay Manor restaurant for many years mainly during the Christmas period. Things have changed and although we have always enjoyed the typically English meals in the past we were overwhelmed by the Christmas Eve tasting menu. You could say there was more plate than food but the six courses were delicious. Every mouthful was a...

Afternoon tea and cakes on a stand for 2; an extensive choice of tea, a tasty variety of savoury snacks, scones, mince pies and chocolatey things. Nothing was too difficult and the welcome and service was so friendly and warm. The hotel itself is charming.

We did a last minute booking for new year , and didn't expect much, but I am pleased to say we were very pleasantly surprised. The hotel staff were incredibly welcoming, our room was spacious, spotlessly clean, with a good sized bathroom, with a lovely deep bath and also direct access to our own dog proof courtyard, We opted for...

After a busy Christmas we decided to treat ourselves to the celebratory New Year taster menu dinner at Rothay Manor. We were warmly welcomed and offered champagne and a delicious selection of canapes. The surroundings are comfortable, stylish and immaculate, The taster menu was a clever combination of intense flavour, beautiful presentation and imagination. Chef Brandon is clearly talented, he...

Wonderful Christmas with the family. Great food and pleasant service. We enjoyed the programme, particularly the sing-along with a piano-lady, as well as cinema with popcorn. Only minor area for inprovement was the wifi.

Thank you for your review. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us over Christmas, and the Carols with Vivienne. You may be pleased to hear that we are just about to improve our WiFi, to give a much faster service :-) We hope to welcome you back to Rothay Manor at some point in the future.

We had dinner at the hotel's restaurant on Christmas Eve. The fixed tasting menu was the only option. The portions served for each course were very small as it was a tasting menu after all but the food was very good indeed. I'd very much like to try their normal menu on another occasion. Another customer though was keen to...

Thank you for your review. I am pleased to hear that you enjoyed the tasting menu, and sorry that your evening was slightly ruined by a whinging customer - unfortunately you can't please everyone :-( We will definitely speak with the chef about unnecessary additions to the menu. Hopefully we will welcome you back for our A La Carte menu.

My husband and I visited Rothay Manor for a four night stay at the start of December 2016 and I can't recommend it highly enough - the suite was perfect, our little dog was welcomed everywhere (including the new dog friendly restaurant area), and the staff went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. The highlight...
