Had a lovely stay in a studio with balcony called Wansfell . This is a room with a view very roomy and so comfortable. This hotel is in a great location and serves good food and the staff are very helpful and friendly would defiantly return

Love staying here. We come every autumn with friends and love it every time.We stayed in room 30, on the second floor with a fab view over the lake. The room was warm, comfy, clean and well maintained. The breakfast selection is not vast but you can choose a full English and cereals, however a continental breakfast is not an...

Visited on the back of good reviews but sadly disappointed. Clearly a pub catering for the masses which is fine so long as you aren't expecting a quaint traditional style pub. Staff were friendly enough but totally phased when asked about Theakstons beer availability - we foolishly thought that the signs outside advertising this brewery meant it would be on...

My wife, myself and our small dog stayed here in November and it was superb for us. Staff very friendly and helpful. Our nicely decorated room was very large, clean and well equipped. It is genuinely dog friendly, the food and price was right. We look forward to returning next year.

We arrived midweek for a two day break and were met by Jess on reception who immediately made us feel very welcome. This set the tone for an outstanding stay. The rooms were large, light, airy and also very clean. At breakfast we overlooked the lake, there was plenty of choice and cooked breakfast was delicious. Our evening meal of...

From the minute we checked in staff were all warm and friendly. Everything was spotlessly clean, spacious room, breakfasts were huge and very tasty. We ate dinner here too. Portions were large and delicious. Staff enquired if we were happy with our meals and made sure everything was ok. Thank you to all staff for ensuring we enjoyed our stay....

Having stayed several times before, it was nice to have the opportunity to revisit after the closure due to flooding. They are nothing if not resilient here and have to suffer occasionally for the stunning location on the lake. The stay was as good as ever. The single room 25 has a lovely bathroom with bath and a great power...

Had lunch here. Very good food. Recommend chowder excellent. Fish and chips also good. Good choice of wines and beer. Staff very helpful. There are steps up to the bar area so difficult if poor mobility. Also gets very busy. Would recommend this eatery

Stopped for lunch. Nice location and great decor but found it a bit unwelcoming. There is a weird queue system at the bar which means you may and up waiting outside!?? Some staff were really friendly and some quite the opposite which made it a little intimidating. Food was just about ok. Ham sandwich a bit dry and not really...
