We have stayed here previously and really like the position in the centre of the town. We had just turned up and booked so not sure if we got the best price I would check on booking sites. The hotel looks as if it is going through a refurbishment, some parts a bit tired others freshly decorated. The bar was...

We only went into the restaurent on the 3/10/15 to have a meal, but we were very disappointed.Whilst the staff were helpful ,the meal was very poor.We requested some bread, just as a starter, and they served us some sliced brown bread spread with margerine which when we looked at it we could see mold growing on the edge of it....

Let's be honest! The staff are lovely. Friendly and willing to help but their efforts are undermined by the dirty and tired decor. I was in Room 20. They charged £45 per night. The toilet has two waste pipes one of which is visible and open. The shower had a dirty used plaster on the soap tray. Uuurgh!! Wallpaper hanging...

Staff have been nice, breakfast was OK (though the sausage looked raw from the outside) but I felt compelled to write a review because the bed I slept in was atrocious. Admittedly, I was in 1 of the cheapest rooms they do so I wasn't expecting much, but I was expecting a decent bed to sleep on. The springs had...

Had a short stay here with friends from Malta and found the hotel although a little dated, extremely clean and comfortable. The staff were all polite and pleasant and the food very good. It is in a good location in the town. Only downside is they only have parking facilities for four cars which not surprisingly were taken when we...

Thank you for your review comments of our Hotel. It is nice to have some honest complimentary remarks, which are the true attributes of the Hotel, taking into account that it is a town centre Hotel built in the 17th Century, is therefore restricted and there are certain limitations to the configuration of the Hotel, and any unrealistic expectations of...

Don't expect any help if you're disabled. Booked in for a couple of nights through a website. Arrived at the Hotel to find the advertised free parking was very limited. Parked in the Market Place & put Blue Badges on. No disabled access, steps up to Hotel entrance. At Reception desk asked if the car was OK where it was...

I booked this hotel for a few night's stay in Ambleside. Looking at some of the comments I was a bit apprehensive of what I may encounter. However, I need not have worried! While it is not a five star hotel, it was more than acceptable. My room appeared to have been recently decorated and was clean. The staff were...

I've stayed 3 or 4 times over the years. Staff are very friendly, but as others have said, could do with sprucing up a bit. Parking is very limited but it is in the centre of town, so other car parks available. Last stay wasn't the best, room 17 is a wooden add on with no heating, haven't slept in...

Booked this hotel for 2 nights from a dog friendly site just to be rejected for having a dog, then classified as a no show so they can charge the full amount. My question is how many people have they con.

Thank you for your comments. The Hotel is dog friendly in certain areas of the Bar and in the Beer garden, just like some pubs, but not in the Dining Room / Restaurant or Guest Bedrooms. The details of any Hotel must be read before booking, as the confusion can be avoided as in cases as parking, lifts, wheelchairs, extend...

Thank you for your comments. This is a town centre hotel with limited parking, so nothing much can be done about the parking. There are several public car parks in the area. We have plenty of tea pots as we serve tea daily after breakfast. For breakfast, as tea coffee juices etc are on a self service basis, the teapots...
