More modern than a lot of stuffy hotels in the lakes. Big,clean and airy rooms with good facilities.Never had a ground floor room with a nice view before. We found it a relaxed hotel as soon as we checked in and the breakfast was spot on. Good value for money compared to other B&B's around Just book it

Stayed in the Lake Lodge for 4 nights in October 2016. The room was a good size and the bed very comfortable. The breakfast was very nice as you could lift what you wanted and it was renewed frequently. Staff friendly and off street parking available.

Beautiful comfy room, helpful and friendly staff, walking distance to lake and easy parking. Would definitely come back. Booked online. Even offer recommendations to restaurants in town where they offer 10% discount to Lake Lodge guests. Free movies to enjoy from their own library.

Would recommend to friends. Well sited in Ambleside, which is a good location to access that part of the Lakes. Staff very helpful in giving useful advice on places of interest and route options. Best to reverse into lower part of car park.

We found the Lakes Lodge a pleasant, conveniently situated B&B. Staff very friendly and helpful, good breakfast, reasonable room. There are noisy pipes in the lodge and we felt the breakfast room furniture a little out of context. It look like a cafeteria. That did not detract from the breakfast. Parking was on site a bit tight if you have... More

Thank you for taking the time to write your review. We are so sorry to hear that your stay wasn't 100% perfect for you. Unfortunately, these old buildings do tend to creak and groan a little but we do hope that if you do decide to visit the Lakes again that we would be a choice of accomodation! More

Booked for one night and stayed two. The wonderful helpful Cath upgraded us to a fabulous deluxe room as we wanted a walk in shower and one wasn't available in the standard rooms. She also arranged for me to have vegetarian sausages for breakfast. Would recommend this place to anyone. Thanks Lakes Lodge.

Spent 3 days at Ambleside in Sept 2016. The Lakes Lodge provided a large room in the downstairs rear area - big, modern bathroom, tea & coffee in-room and a fantastic, plentiful breakfast. Staff were informative and friendly. Parking available on-site (first come, first served basis) and is included in the rate. Location is close to the charming township and... More
