Recently went on our first visit to the Lake District which was made even more perfect by staying in this beautiful quaint B & B run by the most lovely people Paul and James. The rooms are lovely and the added bonus of a decanter of port and Pauls homemade flapjacks made it even more welcoming. Will definitely be back... More

Travelling through the UK on my own I decided to treat myself on this B&B and was not disappointed. James and Paul have done a marvellous job with this guesthouse, with attention to detail to make your stay as relaxing as possible. Warm welcome including homemade gingerbread biscuits, spacious and beautifully decorated room, amazing bathroom, the best breakfast I had... More

Just returned from the Christmas Fair weekend in Ambleside at The Waterwheel boutique style B&B. Paul & James are great hosts, warm, friendly & chatty. Breakfast terrific, rooms attractive with super additional touches, including home made mince pies & port decanter in bedrooms. We stayed in the Stockghyll bedroom overlooking the mill wheel. Smattering of snow on the hills, perfect... More

Saw the reviews on trip advisor and was not disappointed. A very warm welcome, immaculately decorated room and bathroom, very clean. Outstanding breakfast. A great location right in the middle of Ambleside and with free parking a short distance away. Highly reccomended

6 of us came to stay to celebrate a birthday. We have been before but for the others it was their first time. All agreed with us that it cannot be faulted. James and Paul really make you feel welcome. The breakfast is of an excellent quality and puts the luxury hotel that we went to in Scotland to shame.... More

Such a nice a homely b&b! The hosts, Paul and James are simply amazing and went out of their way to make me feel welcome and comfortable. Paul's fruit bread is to-die for. The guesthouse is situated very close to the town centre and within (easy) walking distance to everything. Cannot think of any recommendations which could have made my... More

Just returned from a gorgeous weekend in this b&b- a home from home. Absolutely spotless and faultless. Paul and James are amazing hosts and so suited for what they do. Nothing was too much trouble. My husband has a food allergy and this was catered for with confidence, again nothing was too much trouble. I would return here in a... More

This is an excellent B&B run by a very friendly couple. It is in the centre of the town but in a quiet spot. The room was spotless and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent. Ambleside is an ideal base in the Lake District. Take the walk to the waterfall next to the B&B.
