Spent 3 nights at the Waterwheel and it was a delight. Nigel and Julie couldn't have made us more welcome. Delicious breakfast and the setting was perfect. Room and bathroom excellent, have no complaints and would definitely return.

We have just come back from a couple of days in Ambleside at the Waterwheel Guesthouse, I have to say it is one of the most friendly places I have stayed. Nigel and Julie have certainly got it right. They welcomed us into their home and made us feel very special with little touches like homemade cake to come back...

Me and Mrs went for a jaunt to the Lake District and chose Ambleside as our base. The owners of the Waterwheel Guesthouse were friendly and efficient, and their breakfast was fantastic. The room was large and extremely comfortable - our bath was huge and very comfortable to have a soak in. There were other small complementary touches such as...

We had lovely night's stay at the Waterwheel. A very warm welcome by Nigel, and a very comfortable room with a lovely bathroom. The breakfast was perfect and set us up for the day. We had chosen the Waterwheel for it's location as we were dropping our daughter back at University and wanted to break the journey up before driving...

On arrival Nigel was on hand to give us a parking permit and help us up to our room and give us a bit of information about the area. The room itself was beautifully decorated to a high standard...

Fantastic overnight stay in this quaint B&B. Very spacious room with a wonderfully luxurious bathroom. Nigel was very knowledgeable about the area and provided us with great information about local walks and places to visit. We had an amazing nights sleep listening to the babbling stream which our room overlooked. It's in a fantastic location in walking distance to everything,...

My partner and I stayed here for a long weekend in the lake districts. Nigel greeted us on arrival, showed us to our room and provided all necessary information, even providing a parking permit for the local car park just 100 metres away. We stayed in the Rattleghyll which was a really nice comfortable room. Good size and good comfortable...

This was our first trip to Ambleside and The Waterwheel Guesthouse and we certainly weren't disappointed. Upon arrival we received a very warm welcome from Nigel who explained where to park and he also gave us a hand with our luggage. Our room (The Rattleghyll) was amazing!!!!! The Clawfoot Bath was a fantastic addition with underfloor heating an added bonus....

I couldn't recommend the waterwheel any more! We stayed for two nights over the new year and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Nigel and Julie were fantastic hosts who spare no expense in all the little details as well as the big. Our welcome was lovely and friendly. We were given a parking pass for the local and a few...
