Firstly the good points about this hotel, was that it was very friendly and very welcoming to us and our dog. The food in the morning was lovely and we really enjoyed our Cumbrian full breakfast.

The hotel was having a private celebration when we arrived. The staff included us in this and it was wonderful. We felt really welcome. The breakfast was delicious and the room was clean, tidy and spacious! Highly recommend this hotel!
pleasantly suprised. very warm welcoming atmosphere, love the quirkiness of the hotel. couldn't fault our room, can be a bit nosey at night due to the creeckyness of the floors but I'm a light sleeper so probably wouldn't bother most people. I would defenitly return...More
A chance booking with some luck. Great little place, lovely room, nice bar and very nice staff. Exception to the delight of the homemade shortbread, amazing, also the best hotel full cooked (Cumbrian) breakfast Ive ever had! Will be back one day.

We have just returned after a weekend here. Staff set up a lovely breakfast table in the very pleasant 'back bar' for us and our dog and made us feel very welcome. Dogs are allowed in the bar but not the adjoining bistro... More
