We've just returned after a 2 night break and can not recommend highly enough. We stayed in a room overlooking the lake, Rooms were extremely comfortable, no noise from other guests, and the option to sit in the lounge with the honesty bar! Breakfast was outstanding - would return just for the breakfast alone!

We booked 2 rooms for 2 nights in May as we were attending a wedding locally. We couldn't rate the owners high enough. We were late arriving in the evening due to traffic and this wasn't a problem at all with the owners. Our rooms were lovely with a lake view and the breakfast on each morning was great. Claire...

Sixth year staying here so that must tell you something! Always feel welcome and at home. The sort of place you can go to breakfast in your slippers. Great breakfast with plenty of choice. They do a perfect poached egg too.

My wife decided to take me to the lake district for my 50th birthday knowing i have always wanted to see the Ospreys on Bassenthwaite lake.First impression was excellent (don't understand why people have moaned about the gravel drive and the tight entrance !!) its in keeping with the rural surroundings. We were promptly checked in and given a brief...

Nice place with good guest lounge and friendly hosts. Very good breakfast. Would have no qualms about staying there again other than entrance and exit are a bit tight so take it easy getting in and out. Hotel serving good food a few minutes walk away. Theres a huge swimming pool on the other side of the road -its called...

We've stayed at some of the posher places near here (Swinside Lodge where we got ticked off for a crumb of mud that fell off a hiking boot, and the Overwater Hotel where the service was exceptional but a little too much) but Ouse Bridge is better value and far more friendly and relaxed. My daughter left her favourite cuddly...

The hosts Stephen and Claire are lovely people and very welcoming. The breakfast i would give 5 stars. Also the complimentary bottled water and sweets were a nice touch. However i must give an honest review as we booked our stay due to the positive TA reviews. The frontage of this guest house is gravel driveway. Both entrances are tight...

We have responded directly to the customer to thank them for their review, but wish to point out that they did not at any time during their stay with us, raise any of these issues, which we would have tried to address during their stay at Ouse Bridge House. With regard to the gravel driveway, we believe that there is...

We stayed here for one night and thoroughly enjoyed our stay, We arrived quite late to check-in but the owner was very welcoming and friendly. She gave us a tour of the rooms downstairs and then showed us to our bedroom with a private bathroom across the hallway. She also had plenty of suggestions of where to eat and drink...

We stayed for 3 nights in a very clean and comfortable double room overlooking Bassenthwaite Lake. We had a wonderfully friendly greeting from one of the owners, Claire, and felt immediately at home! That evening we ate in the b&b, cooked by Claire's husband, Steve, and it was delicious. We broke with stereotypes - men having steak and hubby chicken-...
