We went on a special deal which was excellent value. The bedroom and bathroom were both well-appointed and clean, and the bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast and evening meal both very good and all the staff were helpful. The hotel is in beautiful position with a short walk to Coniston. This is our second visit and we will definitely go...

Just returned from a two night deal on Travelzoo. We stayed in room 5 overlooking the lake and the views were absolutely stunning. The hotel and staff were lovely and friendly and the food was really delicious. The only fault I could possibly find was there was no grab rail to climb in and out of the bath to have...

My husband arranged for a 3 night stay in this lovely hotel. We stayed in a 'junior suite' and it was so light and spacious. We had a great living room with 2 seater sofa and an arm chair, the bedroom had a very comfortable double bed. There was plenty of room in the bedroom and in the bathroom. The...

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights in February half term. The location of the hotel is excellent, a short stroll from Coniston village and grounds down to the lake. We were in a room on the second floor which had a very small window and absolutely no view at all, which was a shame. Also the room never...

We spent our Christmas at this great hotel. The staff were friendly helpful and really welcoming. The food was far better than I expected - it was cooked well, served by people who seemed to care and just about the right amount. The room we had was one with a lake view - defiinitely worth the extra. The bed was...

We stayed at The Waterhead hotel to celebrate our wedding anniversary which is on Valentines Day. The hotel offered a special Valentines menu in their restaurant followed by tea and coffee in the bar. The food was well cooked and served by courteous staff making our stay very enjoyable. The rooms are comfortable and the hotel is located just by...

Arrived at the Waterhead Hotel, Coniston on Tuesday 9th February, to a ver friendly reception and nice room, very smart new furniture although a little cold. Bar and restaurant staff very friendly, food fairly good although only one vegetarian choice and the menu does NOT change daily. Day 2 started to go downhill, receptionist on that day very arrogant and...

I visited the Waterhead Hotel last week along with three others for afternoon tea. Tea was served in the lounge/bar overlooking the head of the lake and was of a very good standard, more than enough to eat along with bottomless pots of tea. Decoration is quiet and clean in the public areas and the ambiance is typical of a...

Just spent one night at the Waterhead Hotel it was lovely. We stayed in the room named the Rafters which had a small sitting room which was lovely and would be really nice if you were staying longer.
