We stayed in the Lakeland House hotel for two nights to celebrate my birthday. Our room was absolutely superb, and the views of Coniston Old Man were stunning. The staff were really friendly and the breakfast is worth the stay alone. The room we had was very clean and the hotel is very well maintained and tastefully decorated. The silence...

Here are 5 things you need to know about the Lakeland guest house. 1. No parking at the B&B but there is some limited street parking outside, we were lucky to secure a spot, but didn’t seen anywhere else to park if we hadn’t. 2. The rooms are quite spacious but have no safe. Expensive belongings must be hidden away....

Situated in the centre of coniston village, easy enough to find - no on site parking but had no problems parking nearby on the road. The b & b is linked to the Cafe next door, check in & out both fine, very clean - we had a loft room with a great view of the old man of Coniston...

Stayed in the suite (room 11) and it was just perfect. Large airy double room (with an amazing bath) and a really comfy bed. Sloping ceilings add character but might be frustrating for really tall people. Nice bathroom (shower wasn't very strong but was ok) and lovely twin room. Breakfast was really good. Perfectly positioned in centre of the village....

The weather conditions changed dramatically and with the onset of heavy snow I walked into the B and B to enquire about two nights accomodation. I was able to get a room with a dog priced at £50 per night (£10 per night supplement for the dog). The room was clean with an en suite shower. The kettle in the...

This is a guest house (Lakeland House) but also a coffee shop named Hollands Cafe downstairs. I did not stay overnight, only visited the cafe. It is located in the centre of Coniston right across the road from the main town car park on Ruskin Avenue where the Tourist Information office is. It is decorated in a modern style and...

Stayed here for 2 nights in Room 1 (Superior Room). The room enjoyed nice views from the double aspect. Good clean modern en-suite. The room was £95 a night, I felt this was expensive for the facilities. No biscuits, no hot chocolate, only 4 teabags and UHT milk in pots. As they also own the café downstairs, I think the...

Friendliness = 9/10 Cleanliness= 10/10 Decor, bed comfort, shower = 10/10 Breakfast = 6.5/10 On the last point- didn't like the system of ordering night before as u forget things when not asked, eg: eggs poached or fried? Toast white or brown etc etc. Also the ingredients for full English were all good quality but the coffee was poor (...

We stayed just the one night as a last minute trip. The room was very clean, cosy and had everything we needed. Breakfast was lovely, checking in/out and finding room key etc was all super simple. Would definitely stay here again without hesitation.
