We have just had the most wonderful few days staying at Banerigg House. It is a beautiful, Victorian property conveniently situated on the A591 just outside Grasmere village. The location is perfect for walking straight onto the fells after the most delicious home-cooked breakfast we have ever had. Much walking was indeed needed to use up the calories!! We left... More

I have stayed in many places but this is the best. The warmest and friendliest of welcomes awaits anyone visiting Banerigg. Martin and Angela treat you as their special guest and nothing is any trouble. The rooms are amazing and comfortable and offer the best nights sleep ever, with a choice of bathroom or shower which was confirmed before I... More

We stopped for two nights and had a comfortable stay - it's a nice little B&B about a mile's walk from Grasmere village. The rooms were basic and comfortable. I was not keen on having to share a shower room - would have prefered on-suite but there was only one room left when we booked so I guess it's a... More

We were pleased to read that this reviewer enjoyed his freshly prepared breakfast when he stayed with us April. We were, however, sorry to learn that he was unhappy with the large ensuite room, which his wife had booked. We would like to politely point out that the use of a public shower was by choice, not necessity, as the... More

The service we recieved at the Banerigg was second to none. Angela and co were excellent and as others have commented gave us lifts to and from the village for meals etc. The rooms were adequate and spacious. Everything we needed was there, and when a wine glass was requested one evening, the next morning two were there as standard.... More

We stayed at Banerigg Guest House for 3 nights, Angela and Martin were friendly and amazingly helpful , they even offered to drive us to the local pub on the first night for dinner. As we are both tall we commented that the bedroom, which overlooked the lake, had mirrors that were far to low.On return we found they had... More

In a world where the only constant appears to be unrelenting change, it is always refreshing to beat a path back to the door of Banerigg. Refreshing because - whatever changes you’ve experienced since your last visit – all of the reasons you went there over and over remain just as you remember them. The location will never change (obviously)!... More

We stayed here as a base for walking Bowfell and then Helm Crag, the whole experience was first class, the people, room, food and service is first class, we will be returning of that I have no doubt, a big thank you to Martin and Angela for making our stay most memorable. The only problem is trying to walk after... More

The Banerigg B&B is am amazing gem literally a stones throw from Grasmere Lake. It is in a fabulous location with Grasmere village just 10-15min walk away. Martin and Angela are the most friendly and kindest people we have ever been lucky enough to meet and stay with. They made us feel at home instantly and gave us lots of... More

This was my fourth visit to Banerigg Guest House. The accommodation is excellent, the breakfasts are first class, the views are superb, but most of all, Angela and Martin are attentive to the needs of all their guests and outstanding in their ability to make everyone feel welcome in their house. From young children to my 91 year old mother,... More
