A beautiful house with lots of history. It is under new ownership and I fear it may not stay vegetarian. But, for now, the food was fantastic (very accommodating to vegans). The communal areas were comfortable and the staff very helpful and friendly. My room was awaiting refurbishment and had a funny smell, which I reported. But it was warm...

We had a wonderful stay at Lancrigg. The hotel itself is beautifully restored retaining its country house character and in the most idyllic setting on the paths to Helm Crag and Easedale Tarn with its breathtaking views and stunning waterfalls. The staff are all absolutely lovely. It is really more like being a guest in a very welcoming home. The...

It is now even better. The food was exquisite! The staff were so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much bother for them, and so efficient. Thank you, Lancrigg,...

This was our second stay at Lancrigg and this time we invited our friends of 40 years to join us. Lancrigg is a wonderful place to stay, historically rich and the location is inspiring. The food is superb and apart from a visual delight, an awakening of the taste buds. It is wonderful to arrive by car and then leave...

After coming to Lancrigg for over twenty years we really thought the new owners were moving in the right direction The food was lovely ( being vegans Lancrigg was the only country house hotel we could visit without hassles ) and even the decor was being upgraded. Sadly the hotel has now chosen to throw away its USP. It was...

We have just returned after a 2 night stay in the Easedale room with our two large dogs. The room was very comfortable and we were allowed to leave the dogs in there whilst we had our meals. The staff were very welcoming and courteous, especially Jackie who went out of her way to make sure we had everything we...

We have been visiting Lancrigg for over 20 years but this was our first stay since the change of ownership in 2016. There is an on going scheme of refurbishment and it is true that the old place had some faded charm but it was in need of a refresh - just don't take it too far! What has to...

The Lancrigg is located in a beautiful village and is a great place to explore the different walks. The building itself is lovely and is in the middle of being redone inside due to having new owners. Our room was clean and all of the amenities but there was a lot of room for improvement and wasn't worth what we...

We spent the weekend here, just last week, with our little dog. The Lancrigg is perfectly placed for many walks and the scenery is stunning. The staff were all friendly and helpful, especially Jackie, who made real fuss of our pooch, which was brilliant! We ate a late lunch on both Friday and Saturday. The food was delicious, as were...
