Our overall impression that this was once a lovely old Gentleman's residence right in the heart of Grasmere.I could nit pick and say some of the decor is starting to look pretty tired . Having said that, the staff made up for any shortfalls and were all extremely courteous, attentive and friendly. Service was always excellent. The staff are ever...

Room clean, but right next to the men's washroom. Wall vibrated every time the door closed and could hear a lot of noise from that bathroom. Pretty thin walls. The shower door coming off rails, and sink plug did not work. Had to remove totally to drain. Wifi was slow and took a long time to initiate. Seldom anyone at...

We were upgraded to a premier deluxe room which was unexpected and anticipated something special. Whilst the room had views of the garden rather than the car park as well as the always welcome far off hills, it was also large enough to accommodate a sofa(rock hard and uncomfortable) and a regency style dressing table to match the wardrobe and...

Lovely hotel in the heart of Grasmere, surroundings grounds are wonderful, food great if a little expensive but worth it. Bedroom okay, front room with a lovely view. Would definitely stay there again.

We're more used to holidaying in Europe so find English hotels very expensive. Dale Lodge is no exception. However we received a very warm welcome and excellent service throughout our stay. The restaurant is pretty good, the Hawkshead beer was great! Room was fine. Nothing special but it was warm, comfortable and quiet. The hotel has lovely gardens.

The 'Luxury Mews' rooms are not really luxury at all. They are cramped and on two floors, which is a pain if you need the loo in the night. It was very tight getting in and out of the bed on one side as the stairs are so close, and a tall person could easily bang their head on the...

the bar staff were charging a 50p fee on all credit card transactions INCLUDING contactless payments --this illegal rip off HAS TO STOP !!!!!! No doubt the management were well aware of this. The Lake District can be a rip off ,but this is unbelievable,I will never stay here again.

We have just returned from a 3 night stay in this wonderful hotel. It has about 16 rooms and all seem to have good views set in ample and attractive grounds with good parking. The staff are friendly and helpful. The food and drink was very good and there is a good range of real ales at their adjoining bar....

I'm not quite sure which hotel some of the reviewers stayed at but it couldn't have been this one. Once again, we were treated to a wonderful stay at Dale Lodge - our second and by no means our last. We chose one of the better rooms - upper floor, wonderful view, recently refurbished, roomy, comfortable, you name it. Service...
