The whole place needs a good clean from top to bottom. The back of the bed was dust that had been there for some time. Cobwebs every where you looked. Sticky floor with crime. The bathrooms need updating. The views were stunning. Nice location for walkers. Would never recommend this place. Difficulty parking and not easy to find. Breakfast was...

We booked Potter's Cottage (attached to Beechmount B&B) 3rd - 10th Septmber 2016 Within an hour of arriving I found myself having to clean the fridge before I could put our food in it. I took pics as proof for the owners that it needed cleaning. After cleaning & stocking the fridge I decided to check other areas. The oven...

Very helpful owners. Large cottage with one bedroom and a large bathroom with separate toilet. Nice kitchen and a small lounge area. Well furnished and warm throughout. Walking distance to 2 local pubs( good) and the Sawrey House Hotel which had good but expensive food.( do not stay in this hotel however it is very poor).

I recently stayed here with my wife and 4 year old daughter for the weekend and cannot speak highly enough of the staff and beautiful property. We stayed in one of the self catering cottages which has all of the amenities and equipment you require and is a great size. The bed is the most comfortable I have ever slept...

Not long after arriving I began to feel rather Ill. After spending the whole of Sunday in bed I was unable to recover. My wife explained the situation to Gary and Denise who sprang into assist mode. Calls were made to get me seen at hospital in Kendal another to the Windermere ferry to stay on the Sawrey side until...

What a find! We spent two nights here and it was wonderful. We originally looked to stay at Bowness but there was no availability. As we'd booked late (a few weeks before Easter 2016) the only room available at Beechmount was a twin but that was delightful. On arrival, Gerry organised a pot of tea for us, which was a...

Thank you Denise and Garry for a brilliant stay. We loved the house and everything in it. Brilliant stay with a welcome pot of tea when we arrived to a friendly goodbye. The room was beautiful and very comfortable. Breakfast was great as well. Wish we had longer than just the one night but if we stay in the area...

As we go to different areas in the lakes we don't often get chance to visit Denise & Gary but we managed to call for 2 nights at the end of 2015. They are a wonderful couple & it's always lovely to see or talk on the phone with them. Nothing is too much trouble. This time we stayed in...

Taking advantage of a good weather forecast we made a last minute booking for a 4 night break in March. The accommodation is lovely, with a very comfortable bed, and a shower room with underfloor heating - luxury ! Its a shame there isn't a better table with chairs rather than stools to sit and eat meals, but that's my...

The bed in Potter Cottage welcomed us back again this week. It is so comfortable we overslept on our first morning by sleeping in until early afternoon. We enjoy the warm welcome Gary and Denise give us and the privacy offered by them throughout the week. Make use of the garden after a days walking. It's a suntrap and a...
