My friend and I shared a twin room whilst on a climbing weekend. It was very comfortable and the stay was enhanced by the friendly, helpful staff. We booked it using booking.com and the price was fair for what was on offer.

We stayed in the most spectacular room with balcony view of derwentwater. The annex is as the back of the hotel and offers more modern and more luxurious experience than the main hotel. The hotel itself is set in spectacular surroundings. Fabulous dining area with seating outside and inside, little log huts to sit in and bird feeders everywhere. The...

Do not expect a quiet stay, it is anything but - it is possible to hear just about everything and if you happen to be in a room overlooking the car park you will enjoy the early morning delivery at 7am; this is fortuitous as breakfast is from 8 to 9 only - we had scrambled egg with salmon on...

Fantastic lakeside setting. Clean, warm and comfortable. Friendly, hardworking staff. Very dog friendly. Good food. Quite casual in ambience. This was our first visit having stayed in the area many times before down the road at the Borrowdale. This was less than half the price of the Borrowdale and proved to be excellent value for £. The price cut can sometimes...

We stayed at this lovely hotel for 2 nights, the staff attentive, the evening meals varied and tasty and good value. Though the interior may be a little dated in parts of the room this was overcome by the cleanliness provided, and excellent value Will hopefully return in the future

What a great hotel! Will definitely be going back for longer next time. Positives: great location next to Derwentwater, reasonably price, very helpful staff, delicious food, great views, clean, good parking facilities... the list goes on! Negatives: room 23 needs a new bed and new bathroom as both are very tired!!

We had a lovely 2 night stay at Mary's Mount hotel. We had our dog with us and had the 2 ground floor front rooms in the bungalow. The rooms were lovely and the beds were very comfortable. We could sit in the chairs in the bay windows and see the lake (just!) The rooms in the main hotel and...

We stopped a couple of weeks ago when the snow capped mountains and the frost was around which made for a stunning location to take photos, the restaurant and lounge area were both cosy and perfect the only downside was the bathroom which had the smallest shower cubicle ever and needed an upgrade but apart from this was wonderful.

room above or near extractor, clean and nice, too hot. nice staff - waiting on. nice to be able to take the dog but obviously couldn't sit in the nice conservatory and enjoy the view if you have the dog with you. main complaint was the breakfast times - 8 - 9.... Went to relax after a very stressful time...
