Lovely stay, great bedroom, comfortable and well decorated. Heather and Steve were very friendly. Breakfast good, very welcoming and homely. We would definitely go back. Great location to Keswick and Derwent Water.

Had a lovely weekend staying with Steve and Heather at Pitcairn House, we couldn't have been made to feel more welcome. Very comfortable double en-suite room, with a stunning view of Skiddaw. Delicious breakfasts, with a wide range of choices. We will be back.

The proprietors were very friendly and helpful. Booked restaurants, taxis and made us a packed lunch as we had an early start to catch a train. The building was lovely however we had a room up under the roof and it was a workout with the bags when we left. Steve helped us with bags on arrival. Lovely views out...

Thank you for all the warm comments and glad you enjoyed your stay in our home. The top floor rooms do require the negotiation of a few flights of stairs but as you discovered the view over the roof tops is amazing. Hopefully getting your bags down was easier than getting them up and trust you had a safe onward...

My partner and I had a wonderful stay here thanks to Heather and Steve. Our room was immaculate and you can tell they take great pride in their home. The breakfast was lovely and just what we needed on a cold morning before setting out on our walks. They both were very friendly and were more than willing to offer...

Heather and Steve were very welcoming especially as our party of 5 people arrived in dribs and drabs. The rooms were a touch on the small side especially the triple room, but very comfortable none the less and the bathrooms excellent. Breakfast was also excellent with a comprehensive choice including gluten free options. Given its location of 5 minutes walk...

We understand that guests sometimes have considerable distances to travel and occasionally have to get to us late in the evening so it was not problem having you arrive at different times. It is good to know you enjoyed the comforts and facilities of our home but a little surprised you felt the triple room was small. Compared to many...

I stayed here with my family as we had other family coming over from New Zealand that were staying in the Lake District. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The rooms were spotless and spacious. The breakfasts both mornings were excellent, the hosts leave a form in the room for you to pick what you would like on your breakfast...

Just returned from our fifth stay at Pitcairn House spanning the last 9 years. Like bad pennies we keep turning up at Steve and Heather's door! They are lovely folk who take huge pride in their home and making sure that their guests are warmly received and well looked after. The rooms are first class (we always opt for number...

We were made to feel so welcome at this lovely B&B. Heather and Steve leant me their own flask as I'd forgotten mine & gave us delicious homemade cakes each morning to take on our walks. My daughter had never stayed in a B&B before and she now thinks it's perfectly normal to have delicious warm cakes everyday, fresh milk...
