We have just got back this weekend from walking in the lakes. Greenbank country house, was smack bang in the middle of where we wanted to be. It is a well appointed property. With beautiful gardens and great views

We have just had a long w/e at Greenbank Country House in the Borrowdale Valley, mixed weather but what can you expect for Feb ? We have stayed here before & loved it ~ log fires, good heating, lovely clean rooms & huge kitchen with Aga cooker plus the brilliant owner who was so helpful. All the rooms are en-suite...

My family recently had a get-together at Greenbank Country House. There were eighteen of us in total and I have to say we had a fantastic time. The location was great, a few minutes walk from Derwentwater and just over three miles from the lovely town of Keswick. The house itself was lovely and cosy with open fires for extra...

We hired the whole house on a self-catering basis for our large family gathering (16 people). Two of our family are very elderly (94!) and large houses with ground-floor bedrooms are hard to find. We have stayed at Greenbank before and the location is brilliant. Many delightful walks of all standards direct from your front door, bus connections for the...

Gracious hosts, lovely breakfast and comfy beds. Loved the tea & biscuits in the reading areas. Good local knowledge (maps and menues of nearbay places). Idilic despite the rain. Or maybe because? Enjoy.

We had our 3rd lovely stay here, having stay ed here 30 years ago for our honeymoon. We had great room and en suite with the most fantastic views of Derwent Water and Skiddaw down the valley, and across to High Spy and Cat Bells. Breakfasts were really good, and certainly set you up for the day. On our first...

We were greeted by the landlady/owner who gave us some local knowledge, asked about our breakfast preferences and helped us settle in with some tea and biscuits. There was a slight mix up with the room but it seemed to be down to the website we'd booked through and it was sorted out very quickly. I didn't make it down...

We were very happy to trip over Greenbank on our mini road trip south from Scotland. Janet was very kind and found me a room with a long/large bed, I am 6'5". Room 8 is on the ground floor with a large double bed and good space around it. Clean on suite with bath and the interesting hand held shower...

Janet welcomed us with coffee in one of the two living rooms on our arrival after a long journey. Our room had magnificent views of Derwent Water and Maiden Moor, and was extremely comfortable and well-equipped, with a bath (hurrah!). Greenbank is close to the Derwentwater Hotel and a short distance from Grange with its cafes, and the beautiful bridges...

My parents took me, my partner and our 3 year old son for a week in Keswick. We were expecting it to all be a bit cramped but to our delight the apartment they had rented had 3 en-suite rooms, living room, kitchen and a private garden. Everything was spotless, comfortable and really well stocked. Although we didn't have the...
