Myself and my husband managed to escape family life for a whole 24 hrs and ended knocking on the door of the Ellergill. The owner's were very friendly and were able to offer us their last room. It was a very clean, quiet and comfortable room and had all the amenities we required. It didn't even bother us that the...

Great location, just a few minutes walk from the town centre. Our group of 4 had the 2 large rooms (1&4) which were spotlessly clean and had everything you need plus little treats were left on the bed which was a nice gesture. After we had climbed Haystacks in glorious sunshine there was plenty of hot water on our return....

We stayed multiple nights at the Ellergill and were happy with it. If you're in the Lakes District to hike, Clare and Robin are full of helpful information and you can walk out the front door and be on your way. The rooms are clean and beds on the firm side. When we came back after a wet day of...

My husband and I recently had the opportunity ( thanks to lovely Granparents!) for a rare 'child free' break. We decided to book Ellergill, based on its proximity to Keswick town centre as well as Derwent Water and the surrounding mountains. We had a great time, Robin and Clare were very friendly, welcoming and gave good advice on walking routes,...

We stayed at Ellergill over night and could not fault it. We booked room 5, which although small, was perfect for what we wanted. The room was spotless and bathroom extremely clean. The location is excellent, only 5 minutes into Keswick itself. The views over the hills at the back were lovely. We were made to feel very welcome and the...

We had room 4, the dark red with rhe hearts above rhe bed. It was a big room, more than enough space, with comfotable chairs and a huge window looking down Stranger Street and the mountains. The room is on the top floor, up four flights of stairs (or three?) at any rate, if you can't climb up, don't get...

This is not the first time we gave stayed here, and once again the quality of ellergill means it won't be the last. The rooms are comfortable, spotless and have great furnishings. Breakfast offers more than a fry up, and you can "build your own" breakfast. The welcome is warm without being that awful in your face hand wringing type,...

Stayed here for 4 nights in April. Attention to detail shows in this B & B located within walking distance of center of town. Parking is tight, but fortunately Robin and Claire have private parking for guests in back. Great location for walking to (and up) Cat Bells, around Derwentwater and setting off in our car to explore other lovely...

Stayed for a couple of nights in March. We booked the superking double. The room was fantastic. Huge bed (very comfy) and lots of storage space. The bathroom was very clean with toiletries provided. Tea, coffee, chocolate and biscuits are provided. We even had a small chocolate bar on our pillow at night. Breakfast is ordered the night before and...

This is a very well-located b&b in walking distance of the town centre, but peaceful at night. The owners are friendly but professional, breakfast generous with good choices, and the rooms we have stayed in comfortable, warm and immaculately clean. Can't fault it; we have been several times now.
