Visited as a family and pre booked for the restaurant, paid £36 each so that's £72 for the room-no breakfast included. The bed was clean and comfy and the towels were clean but the room was filthy. I come from a hotel and catering back ground and was appalled at how dirty the room was,the cups were disgusting and the carpet...

Hi Ruth, Having read your review I am extremely embarrassed and very upset. The cleaner in question started with us some 6-8 weeks ago, completed her basic training and has been doing very well. However it seems that while I have been on holiday she has been taking the proverbial knowing that we are not there to check her rooms....

Great place for an overnight stay. I had a single room which was clean, had a shower and freeview TV. Very cheap and cheerful right opposite the station. Easy to find and you get what you pay for. Staff were friendly and welcoming.

I arrived for a two night stay with my partner and our 6 year old daughter. I emailed ahead of our arrival to see if we could check in early and manager replied no problem, he came in early to allow us to check in at 11am and was very helpful. The car park was a slight downfall as we...

More of a pub with rooms than a hotel. The Station is in a great location, right next to the castle park. There is no Reception - it literally is one end of a bar - and when we arrived, discovered there is no parking either, other than 3 public bay spaces outside, which were all full. Had to leave...

Just stayed here with a large group of mates doing the C2C. Checked in, the reception is basically the end of the bar counter. The bar is mainly frequented by work men. The car park is a waste piece of land facing the hotel in which you place a card in your car window, presumably this must be to avoid...

Location good, check in easy and straightforward. Room spacious and quiet on the top floor (quad room). The staff were very friendly and helpful. I did have some niggles with the quad room, though. The single beds in the quad room were uncomfortable and you can feel the springs in the mattress. This led to a great debate over who...

Came across this place while walking round Penrith. It didn't look much from out side but we are glad we went in. A very friendly waitress greeted us and sat us down . I had slow cooked lamb with potatoes veg and minted gravy. My husband had steak pie and chips. We decided to go back the following night, we...

Stayed he for several weeks a year whilst studying. Hotel side has not been touched in years. The carpets in the room are threadbare. The bedding is ancient and there's only a small oil heater to heat the room during winter. The only bonus is the location and the price for room only. I can't comment on the food as...

Hi, for someone who claims to stay here several weeks a year whilst studying, I feel I should know who you are? It must be quite some time since you stayed as in the spring of 2015 we replaced the carpets and fitted black out blinds to all the letting rooms. As well as this, new radiators were also fitted...
