Very friendly staff, nice surroundings, thought it would be OK as we'd stayed before but food was poor. Steak raw, sent back and very quickly re cooked but second time still tough. Sweet potato fries were divine. Very difficult to find good steak in this country! Go here for drinks and fun but choose menu options carefully!

I stayed here with my mum 2nd December for 1night. We arrived too early to check in so decided to have some food whilst sitting by the log burner. The bar women told us that they did sandwiches so that's what we had. These did take a while however when they arrived with a huge bowl of chips they were...

Went to Gray walls on Saturday didn't start well, I ordered a pint of bitter and a pint of bitter shandy it was £8, I asked if that was right barman said its £4 for each drink. So that's £2 for a half of bitter and £2 for half of lemonade what a rip off. We should of left but...

Not much choice for a reasonably priced supper in Windermere in November. Our favourite pub had kitchen problems. Although the guy behind the bar was very personable, the overall atmosphere was decideably dreary with garish videos showing on the big screen. We ordered the Cumberland sausage and mash and the scampi and chips. The former was quite bland and the...

I stayed here with my Mum for three nights, from 25th-28th October. We loved our stay here. The room was lovely, beds very comfortable and the staff were very friendly. The breakfast was nice and the staff always made us feel welcome. The location is also fantastic. We would definitely stay here again.

We stayed here for one night on a hiking trip. All seemed okay when we checked in, the beds were a little hard but figured it wouldn't be the end of the world. Unfortunately neither or us got a good night's sleep despite being worn out from a 10 mile hike in the mountains. Breakfast was by far the worst...

We didn't know what to expect when we arrived, thankfully we had a very lovely stay. When we arrived we went to the bar to check in and the friendly bar tender got the manager to take us to our room. Our room was lovely, had a great view of Windermere, a big comfy bed and a very nice bathroom....

Oh dear, overall very disappointing! But I'll start with some positives: All staff were helpful, welcoming and friendly. The bedrooms and bathrooms were very clean and tidy and daily housekeeping was excellent. The overall decor of the place was dated though. In our room (2) the windows didn't close and we had a really noisy extractor fan (thought I was...

Stayed 1 night at this hotel and it is the worst room we have ever stayed in, the curtains were hanging off the track, the side of the bath was broken, with cigarette burns on the bath and the tiled bathroom floor had lots of broken tiles, The small when you walked into the room was overpowering it smelt like...

Only 6 car park spaces so had to park 10 minute walk away and lug the cases. No hooks in ensuite to hang out towels or clothes. Double room was clean but very cramped. The door would not shut and had to be locked to close properly. The bed was extremely uncomfortable and on a hot summer night we could...
