What an amazing place Montfort guest house is, me and my wife Jen absolutely loved it here, we have stayed in numerous guest houses in and around Windermere and I must say this is the best we have come across. Paul and Sue the owners were lovely people and made us so welcome on arrival. The room we stayed in...

For our first ever weekend in Lake District, this was the perfect place to stay! Right in the middle of Windermere town and Lake Windermere. Short walk into town. So cosy and the breakfasts were amazing! Paul and Sue were so welcoming and we wanted to stay longer. Will definitely be going back, and to top it off the view...

We stayed here for 2 nights over New Year. The owners are lovely and welcoming and the place is very well run. Our room was clean, tidy and comfortable with tasteful decor. It also had the added extras of a kettle, various hot drinks, biscuits, mulled wine and mince pies (with it being Christmas!), hairdryer, iron, shampoo, conditioner, soap, shower...

We had a lovely stay here, Sue and Paul are very friendly and the rooms are a good size, clean and nicely presented. On arrival we were given mulled wine and mince pies which was lovely a lovely touch, especially when it was very cold outside! Breakfast was delicious with a nice range of options to choose from too. Very...

Paul and Sue were very welcoming and friendly, the warmth was felt the minute we stepped through the door. The room was spotless, clean and cosy. Everything you needed was provided. The breakfast was delicious and very tasty. We will definitely be choosing Montfort Cottage again - it was a short walk into Windermere and a slightly longer walk to...

The b+b is well placed and is just a short walk to both Windermere and Bowness, and a short drive to most attractions and places of interest. There is plenty of free parking on the street outside and the breakfast is a great start to the day and the owners are happy to cook the breakfast to your liking. All...

Many thanks for the review and glad you both enjoyed your stay. We are a little disappointed you didn't give us full marks, considering you did book our cheapest room and it's advertised as not having an en-suite bathroom. So therefore should not have been unexpected. Maybe next time you could pay a little extra and stop in one of...

We stayed for three nights and couldn't have been made to feel more welcome. We were in the Windermere room which was clean and spacious with an extremely comfortable bed; it would have been ideal for a longer stay as it was well equipped with iron, ironing board and some good storage. The breakfast was delicious, with a good level...

Thankyou Sue and Paul for our stay this week. We have had a really comfortable break in your beautiful guest house. We stayed in the Windermere room and have no complaints. It was arranged to celebrate my Fiancé Derek's 50 th Birthday and a couple of extra touches were so lovely. I asked for prosecco and chocolates which you arranged...

Well what can I say. Stayed here bank holiday weekend as a surprise visit for my girlfriend to Windermere. Montfort Cottage was the idyllic base to feed our adventures and rest our weary heads. Firstly I need to tell you that Sue and Paul (the owners) are truly first rate, friendly, warm and very happy to go that extra yard....
