We had a really enjoyable 2 night stay at Hillthwaite in November, and decided to take advantage of the Spring offer. We'll be returning home today, wishing we'd booked a longer stay and already planning when we can come back. We loved our previous room at the top of the house, and by way of a change tried room 18...

Stayed here with my partner for 2 nights 16th and 17th March. The hotel is set up on a hill and is very nice, our room was what is called the cosy room, quite small but big enough for us. Had access to the pool and the breakfast is excellent. Would come back again

We visited the Hillthwaite hotel for afternoon tea and a dip in the spa. After a swim and a sauna we were welcomed into the dining room for our tea. The window table overlooked Lake Windermere and what a fabulous view it was. Our tea arrived and it was as good as we expected served by a very pleasant young...

Lovely hotel, but very disappointed in quality and variety of evening meal, some strange combinations. My husband and I stayed here a few years ago and found the food excellent then, so very dissapointed in standard now.The staff were vey friendly but we felt that we had to wait too long between courses. Spoke to Edward and our complaints were noted,...

I rang to check if the hotel was dog friendly and they are. We were offered a garden room with easier access to the rear car park which sounded ideal for taking our dog out without disturbing other guests, so I booked for an overnight stay with DBB. On arrival, we found a complimentary bottle of wine waiting for us...

I stayed one night in this hotel as part of a large group passing my the Lake District. The hotel is charming indeed. Set on a hill top with a limited view of the Lake Windermere. It looks like an old Mansion House, like something out of Falcon Crest! As this is an old property, there are unfortunately no lifts,...

We had an amazing weekend at Hillthwaite Hotel. The place is amazing and we had a room which looked out on to lake Windermere which was fantastic. There are plenty of walks to do near by and plenty of amazing places to eat and drink (Try the Fizzy Tarte for cocktails and cakes). What made this hotel for me was...

Had a weekend break with db&b. The staff were polite and helpful. Nothing seemed too much trouble. The room was good, clean and comfortable. It got quite hot at times but turning off the towel rail and opening the windows sorted that. Better than being too cold. A nice room. The food was great. Breakfast was delicious. Dinner menu was...

We stayed for one night with friends. It was good value as we got a deal including welcome cream tea, breakfast and late check out. There are many positives about this hotel but a couple of negatives as well. Positives- Nice rooms, lovely big comfortable beds and pillows and nice and quiet. The staff are very welcoming and attentive. Good location....
