A lovely British lodge with a good cooked breakfast. Located a two minute walk from Windermere village and 20 minute walk from the lake. The main downside, for us at least, was the bed which was topped with a very thick memory foam and not particularly comfortable. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the lodge itself was beautiful.

We stayed here for one night and were pleased we didn't have to stay longer ... The hotel was a good location for Windermere and the car park was great. The building also had a lot of character/potential. There is no way this is a 4 star facility though. - there is no one on the property past 9pm ......

Loved this hotel, downstairs was lovely and our room was nice too, our view was the side of the house but we could still see the road at the front, we was here last October and hoping to return in April for my husbands birthday, hopefully we might get to stay in a room on the top floor this time...

Pros -Absolutely excellent breakfast probably the best we have had in a hotel ,lovely staff, fantastic location, comfortable bed, great location, nice and warm. Cons - the room was not of the standard as featured on the web site for example bath panel was split and dirty, bathroom ceiling was peeling draughty windows allowing traffic noise, room was out dated. Overall...

We have just spent 2 nights in this lovely hotel. The location is excellent just a couple of minutes walk to the varied shops, bars, cafes and restaurants. Plenty of car parking too which is a bonus. We stayed in room 5 on the ground floor which is at the side rear of the building so no view, it was small but...

We stayed with friends recently, lovely hallway and good sized rooms for the most part. My single friend stayed in the only single room available ,(room 3), which she was unhappy with as it just about fit a single bed and small wardrobe. It was claustrophobic and the bedroom window wouldn't open, only a high window in the bathroom opened....

Booked 3 rooms for a family celebration (parents 50th wedding anniversary) 9 months in advance. Unfortunately father then became unwell and hospitalised - realising he was going to be too unwell to make trip, made decision to cancel the reservation. Had booked via booking.com so had to go via their website to cancel - they said Ellerthwaite Lodge were not...

My husband and I have just spent two nights here to celebrate my birthday, we asked for a room that had a walk in shower and that is what we got, the room was of a decent size and had a sliding door from the bedroom into the bathroom. We had freebies such as shower gel, shampoo etc so if...

Thank you for your kind works and we are very happy you enjoyed breakfast. We source all our breakfast product locally and cook everything to order fresh in the morning. We still believe that table service is much nicer than buffet, it might take a little longer but we hope that it provides a relaxing start to the morning.
