Best guest house we've stayed in. Breakfast was incredible - great menu and quality produce. Beds are so comfy. Location great. Lots of nice touches - freshly baked cake every day for guests, great DVD collection to borrow from. Coeliac friendly! Best birthday gluten free pancakes ever! Thank you Jennifer for a great stay

From the outside this is a nice 4 storey Victorian home, inside there is a big welcome. The place is run by a young couple he is a qualified chef and has taken some trouble to offer a large number of breakfast options. Between us over 10days we tried a fair few though we stuck with some favourites and didn't...

Very clean and comfortable room. On site parking was very convenient. The owners were very helpful and friendly and took time to help us plan our activities during our stay. The wide range of books, maps and brochures that were available to us were very helpful. The home baked cakes and cookies were an unexpected delight. Very good value.

We stayed for 2 nights and had a lovely time. The breakfast had numerous options, including pancakes, trout etc. Coniston is the room with a view of the ranges, with a modern spacious bathroom. The room is a double room, clean with home made cookies.(delicious and thoughtful). The hosts were friendly and were happy to advice us about local areas....

Having never stayed at the Lake District before, Windermere seemed like the obvious choice to get our bearings. Although a 20 min walk to Lake Windermere, it is definitely quieter than Bowness, and frequent buses take you to the lake and neighbouring towns as traffic and parking can be difficult especially at peak times. The Archway Guesthouse was recommended by...

This is an excellent base for exploring the lake district, in a B and B which is like a home from home. Clean, excellent food and in a fantastic location for Windermere and Bowness and easily accessible for the rest of the lakes.
