Generally rather disappointed with the experience considering the price we paid. I have subsequently emailed the establishment directly highlighting 5 crucial service & operational failures that we experienced during our 4 day stay. Upon our arrival, reception staff were not very receptive, relying mostly on guests using the self service automated check in service. No direction of where to go to find my room, particularly on account of the elevator being broken & then having to wander around trying to figure out where to go exactly. Unhelpful!! Virtually none of the staff were using proper face coverings (as was still required by law) which in turn resulted in most other guests ignoring the requirement! On more than 1 occasion we were disappointed at the overall cleanliness of the communal surrounds. Tables not wiped down or cleaned, rubbish left lying around... Room service non-existent due to 'Covid'...but then don't charge me a full price if you're not going to deliver the usual expected services of a luxury hotel stay! Poor operating management by closing the swimming pool on the Sunday afternoon for chemical treatment when there's a multitude of guests to use the facilities...should've been done the night before! Apart from the additional advertised facilities of pool & gym etc...I could've saved myself £300 & just stayed at a Travelodge in all honesty 😥…
I was a bit apprehensive after reading some of the reviews but to be honest, I shouldn't have been! Hotel was clean, staff were friendly and the pool facilities was great! Our shower didn't work, we reported it, it got fixed ASAP, can't ask for more! We booked through Village site after registering (for free) as a member and we got free parking, free WiFi and free pool access...so make sure you book that way! The app is quite glitchy and we had to ask to get room serviced and fresh towels but to be honest, we asked and they did it so can't complain! The outdoor pool is fab...the weather being glorious was a bonus aswell, there is specific times kids can access the pool so it's wasn't busy all day! We would definitely come again if visiting Blackpool!
Stayed for 5 nights....hotel is fine and the staff are pleasant. The lift was broken for 4 days..The bar and food prices are a bit steep although the food is good. We decided to use public transport but be prepared to do lots of walking. First bus into Blackpool from the main road is at 10.15am No. 20...the same last bus back is at 16.15pm from central library..otherwise for a later time the bus to the hospital and a long walk back..
we visited herons reach for 3 nights, party of 60 golfers and non golfers. we heard the negatives about the hotel but must say the stay was excellent. the staff in the golf bar worked so hard and did a great job. we had our own room at night and was catered for really well.food excellent and be ar service good. restaurant for breakfast was very good. golf course was in good condition. I would come back again soon.. well done everyone at Herons' Reach..
I have been before and never had a problem. This was a completely different experience. I know covid restrictions are in place but why book so many people in ? We visited the bar and grill place and this is where it all went wrong, ignored and left to sit and wait, tables weren’t being cleaned and the seagulls were having a ball, it’s seems if you were playing golf you got priority. The room was like a sauna. Starbucks didn’t open as issues. Overall crap stay.
