We haven’t stayed here for a couple of years due to covid, but as we didn’t want to go abroad until next year, we came back to Blackpool for a staycation. Some of the people that review on TA are disgusting, we all know about staff shortages in hospitality, we all know how busy they must be trying to give us a holiday after all these lock downs. Give them a break hey. The staff here are amazing and very good at what they do. They’re all well trained and want you to enjoy your holiday. That much is very clear. Rooms are clean, the communal areas are clean, if you ask for a service, they’ll go above and beyond to give it you. The food was up to its usual high standard and in the grand scheme of things, the management are doing a great job considering the challenges they’re up against. I’ll definitely be coming back here in the future, keep up the great work.

We visited this hotel as we have stayed here many times. On this occasion the visit was beyond awful. Our visit was 4 days and just short of £550.00. We were told when we booked that parking had gone up from 5.00 to 8.00 per night and then got an email to day this was 15.00 per night. We did show the reception that we had an email stating this was 8.00 per night and she honoured this with an attitude. We then had the shock horror as we checked in the room om the saturday and by the monday our bins were over flowing and no toilet paper. We approached a cleaner to be told the rooms will not be cleaned as they are SHORT STAFFED. OMG what a joke is this all about. I would NEVER live at home with over flowing bins and no toilet tissue. I then asked at reception and a girl with a huge attitide said we dont clean rooms until you go due to covid. I said we are out of the room all day and can you not go in then. She said point blank NO. At this point i just wanted to go home but had paid so much to stay there and it was our wedding anniversary so did not want to cut my first break away in 3 years as we haf looked forward to it. We then seen a cleaner when we was going back to our room and she said hello and we got talking about the room. Hayley looked GOBSMACKED and called her superia and said they would clean my room. To which she said the reception are giving untrue information as it is not covid and the reason the rooms are not cleaned is tjat they have no staff. Hayley was amazing and couldnt do enough for us. She felt so embarrased. On chevk out the girl said was everything ok for you and we said no not really. We briefly explained and all she sais was. Oh no. Obviously the big blue managers do not care about their custom to ehich I find extremely sad. Just be mindful when booking this hotel that standards are not even 4 star. If you dont mind dirty over flowing bins and no fresh bedding and no toilet roll then this is the place for you. Mr mrs Andrews

Staff were friendly and helpful from the second we arrived; a lot of them remember you throughout your stay which is always nice. Ate in both the bar and restaurant and the food was excellent in both. Plenty of choice at breakfast and cooked options were frequently topped up and was piping hot. We had a theme park view and I enjoyed seeing the rollercoasters passing by. If you want to have your windows open and have children who go to sleep early, these rooms would not be ideal as the screaming from people on the rides is loud lol. The theme park rooms are also quite a walk from reception, so if you have trouble walking, please bear this in mind. The hotel has its own car park which is a good size. Hotel guests have direct access to the pleasure beach for the first 90 minutes of the park opening. I didn’t find the beds to be very comfortable and the pillows are very thin. That is my only negative. I will definitely stay again!

Good location, reasonably priced and clean accommodation plus large car park, nice restaurant, bar, breakfast etc etc … But Walls are paper thin, could here people talking, snoring, kids screaming! Also kids running up and down the corridor until late too, obviously the parents don’t care that some people might actually be in bed, but hey hoo not the hotels fault. My biggest complaint? £30 to park your car … My advise? The Imperial Hotel is much quieter, not to many screaming kids and at only £9 to park to me much better value for money. Won’t return to the Big Blue we felt much more comfortable at the Imperial …

We stayed at the Big blue this weekend and it was one of the nicest hotels i’ve ever stayed in! The room was gorgeous and the staff very helpful. They literally thought of everything, from shower caps and bath salts to hot chocolate and short bread! We had a drink in the bar before we went out in the evening and it was reasonably priced and breakfast in the morning was lovely. Everywhere was clean and hygienic. We really did have a lovely stay. Would recommend to anyone and can’t wait to stay again! The only thing that was a bit annoying was you have to pay £15 a day to use the car park even if you’re a guest at the hotel.
