Our room was quite small but exceptionally clean and comfortable. Be aware that there are no electrical outlets in the bath and only two in the room (at least in our twin room). I don't believe they have any first floor rooms so you will haul lugguage up narrow staircases. The thing that makes Abinger shine is Bob the innkeeper.... More

Hi Chris Thanks for taking the time to post a review. You raise some good points which I can respond to. There are 6 power points in room 3. 2 behind the TV, 2 behind the fridge and 2 behind the bed nearest to the door. I will remember to point them out in future. Power in the bathroom is... More

Visited Leicester for a Week, Stayed for 2 Months, Abinger provided a home from home, was friendly, Accomodating, Breakfasts were great, Big TVs, Shower was lovely (not the usual 8KW electrics you get). Would definately be my first choice when revisiting Leicester.

This place is an absolute jewel in Leicester's crown. The guesthouse is really nice as well as incredibly easy to find and get to, about a mile or so from the city centre and about 1.5 miles from the railway station. The rooms are more than adequate and Bob, the owner, is incredibly accommodating, even making me a bacon and... More

Thanks Daniel. If I had known you thought we were so great, perhaps I would have waived the 10% Poor Student Discount you got. (just kidding). You're not the first guest to have overslept and I guess that's a kind of compliment too. As the "face" of Abinger weekends, I tend to get more namechecks than the really hard and... More

Ronald Isley used to sing "Love's still the answer", in this case there is nothing more appropriate than "Abinger is the answer". I could stop here, but let me tell you a couple of things before. Abinger is not only a lovely guest house - by the way, the rooms looked elegant in the pictures and I confirm that they... More

Hey Luca, thanks for your kind compliments. As Kenny Rogers said, "the best thing about running a guest house is that many people arrive as strangers and leave as friends"_ I may be paraphrasing here but I'm sure that's what the lyrics meant in Coward of the County. Some people might look at your comments and think they should keep... More

A real find - the beds were brilliant and the room was comfortable, well appointed and lovely and warm on a very cold night. Breakfast was fantastic and showed a real personal touch. We were made to feel very welcome and have no hesitation in recommending Arbinger Guest House very highly.

Hi Dillip I'm sorry I never got the chance to meet you in person, but Pauline told me you were both lovely and very happy with your visit. Thank you for your kind words and compliments. Perhaps, if the University also created a favourable impression, we will see you again soon at Abinger. Bob Welland More

Found this guest house after trawling the net and was pleasantly surprised.
