The Leonardo Hotel Liverpool garners mixed reviews, with its prime location near Liverpool docks and attractions often earning high praise from guests who also appreciate the hotel's clean, comfortable atmosphere. Despite this, many travelers criticize the value for money, pointing out high costs for services that sometimes fail to meet expectations.
While the staff's friendliness is occasionally highlighted, issues with service and disorganization are also noted. Guests call out the need for better room maintenance and more reliable amenities, though the breakfast options are generally well-received.

Detailed Reviews
Hotel is walking distance from the city centre (10 minutes to everywhere) and is close to the Beatle's Museum, the staff are also rather friendly. However, poor enforcement of rules concerning COVID-19. Flatscreen TV and housekeeping were advertised however the hotel failed to comply. The overall cleanliness of the room could be improved as the ceiling was visibly dusty and the soap dispensers were dirty. As well as this there was only one roll of toilet paper for three guests. Upon arrival we weren't asked whether we had a car and therefore ended up spending £30 on two days of parking. Also we had to move room as the initial room had an unsatisfactory view.

Stopped one night.
On arrival Covid procedures where explained. Also there were track and trace notices.
On room handle there was a note saying the room had been sanitised and when inside a label was attached to both the TV remote and toilet seat saying they had been sanitised, together with a leaflet showing what other parts of the room had been sanitised.
We visited the bar and once seated a waitress took our order and brought our drinks to our table. While in the bar the staff would continually sanitise areas that had been used.
The beds were amazing with plenty of pillows and so comfy I didn't want to leave it 😀.
Plenty of tea and coffee (but no biscuits 😕).
The hotel is very well situated my the Albert Docks and a very short walk to the city centre.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and my daughter and I had a very enjoyable stay.

We arrived early and the staff very kindly agreed to keep our luggage as check in was not until 3pm. We arrived back shortly after 3pm to check in to be told our room was not ready. At this stage we were given vouchers for 3 complimentary drinks at the bar. However, we were in a hurry as we needed to wash and change to be ready to leave again at 4.45pm. We eventually got to our room at 4pm. The room itself was clean and warm and had everything we needed. We were informed continental breakfast would be delivered to the room and hot breakfast was available to take back to the room if we wanted. The first morning we only received 2 breakfasts as there was a mixup with the booking. The receptionist was quite insistent that it was our mistake and we would have to pay another £80 per night for the 3rd guest. It was sorted and was actually a mistake between the hotel and booking.com. Due to Covid they did not service the rooms and therefore did not leave clean towels, refresh the tea/coffee tray or take away the rubbish. We were there for 3 nights and had to ask for clean towels every day. We also had to take the rubbish to reception as they didn't provide any bins around the hotel. (The rubbish mainly consisted of food waste from the breakfast delivered to the room).
Overall most staff were pleasant and helpful however, I feel that Covid is used as excuse for a lot of things. I can't understand why rooms can't be serviced but staff no longer need to wear masks and the bar was open with people coming and going freely.
We would probably stay here again as the location is good but maybe not until post covid or they decide to service rooms.

Checked in by wonderful Grace at reception, but having raised our expectations the rest of the staff were sullen, rude and disinterested. Room was big, with a good view but unclean and tired; beds were some of the least comfortable we have slept in. Ordered room service, and my advice is don’t... took ages, arrived cold and inedible - the dunking donuts were like bits of vulcanised carbon and don’t get me started on “thick sliced white bloomer” Location is excellent with lots of restaurants and bars within 3 minutes walk too so strongly advise get to those rather than eating or drinking here.

Appalled by the breakfast we received. Due to the pandemic the hotel stated a substantial continental breakfast would be served in our room and breakfast rolls tea and coffee would be served in the bar area.
The continental breakfast was left outside our room, it contained a small yoghurt, a yoghurt with a granola, and apple, warm orange juice an a apple.
The breakfast rolls from the bar were left unattended, the bacon and egg trays were empty. The coffee machine was out of order and we were told by the staff that we had tea and coffee in our room.
Having stayed in a comparable hotel the day before, were we received the full breakfast menu in the restaurant, I wonder why Jury's are still offering this at £22.00 per person - shocking.

We have stayed at this hotel numerous times through the past 5 years and have never been disappointed with any of our visits. That’s until this time. We arrived on New Years Day. We left our bags and headed off in to Liverpool one. We arrived back to check in after 5pm. The room hadn’t been cleaned to the standard it should have been. There was someone else’s shower gel splatted up the wall. We booked a superior room which included free water. There were no water. We questioned this at reception and the girl said she would get in contact with house keeping. They weren’t answering the call. So she told us to take a couple of drinks from the fridge in reception. Which was very kind but there was no water. We later went in to the hotel bar for a drink before going to eat at the India next door and the bar was so cold. It wasn’t an enjoyment to sit there in our coats. The following morning we checked out. Once we arrived home I realised I had left some expensive cleanings product on the bathroom shelf. I rang the hotel straight away and they were going to call me back. Over 24 hours later I still didn’t get a reply so rang them again. To be told nothing was found in my room?????? And there was nothing that they could do. Very poor customer service, very disappointed and will not be returning to the jurys inn Liverpool again

This hotel is in a good location and there are plenty of car parks dotted about which average at about £20 for 24 hours, however it is a pay on exit so don’t park there if you plan to leave and come back as that’s what we did and our parking has costed £30 for our one night stay. We checked into the hotel, no problem room was spacious and well equipped for our stay.
However, when I wanted to take a shower prior to going out for dinner and drinks the water ran cold for ages so had to ring reception for someone to come up. Someone came up and managed to get me Luke warm water by pulling it through whatever that means but it all took so long I couldn’t shower as we had a dinner reservation to make. When we came back about 5 hours later I definitely wanted that shower I never had earlier on but guess what the water was back cold so I had to ring reception again and go through the rigmarole again by which time it had been 45 minutes and the water wasn’t getting any hotter. I was told an alternative room would be found for us so we packed up which was an inconvenience as it was now 22.45pm and then suddenly the water was boiling hot so we unpacked and stayed but I ran in the shower before it went back cold again. We have checked this morning and the water is cold again so no morning showers it’ll have to be until we get back into Birmingham later today. I think overall the hotel is great so long as you don’t want to shower in warm/hot shower as long as you’re willing to have a cold shower. We also weren’t offered anything for our inconvenience other than the change of room which was an inconvenience within itself. I expect for my stay to not have these reoccurring disturbances because there was a lot of time wasted due to the waiting around and it’s been my worst experience at a jury’s inn as I’ve stayed at Birmingham and Nottingham and not experienced any issues which was the main reason I chose this hotel as I anticipated for the service to be the same.

Stayed for 3 nights from Mon 14th to Thurs 17th on a SE deal, Megan was on duty our whole stay & was simply fantastic, nothing was too much trouble from providing fresh milk for hot drinks to sorting out an issue with our A/C, as front of house she really is in the right profession & a real asset to Jurys!
We were allocated room 453 which had a view of the river but mainly overlooked the wheel & the M&S arena, the room was spotless & the bed was so comfortable, as it was so hot the only improvement would have been the addition of a fridge to accommodate cold drinks, oh & maybe change the shower curtain as it had a bit of an odour, that did not affect our stay though.
There are no restaurant facilities currently open, a bag is left outside your door containing a 250ml orange juice, a sealed pain au chocolate, a granola pot with yoghurt & either an apple or berry fruit pot, you can then go to reception & they will provide you with a breakfast bap, remember to ask for sauce as not automatically provided.
In terms of parking, there is lots of choice especially along the Albert Dock but it’s incredibly expensive, if you leave the dock, go straight over at McDs then take a right then a left there is a little car park on Jamaica Street which is £6 for 24 hours, take coins as it’s cheaper than their website 5 days is only £25, please note each ticket expires at midnight so if you arrive at 2pm make sure you put in 2 days until midnight the following day, cheapest & easiest!
We had such an amazing stay & will return to both Liverpool & Jurys once we’ve detoxed from all the alcohol!

Should not be a 4 star hotel!!
On arrival the lobby is nice. Check in is 4pm which is quite late. They allow you to leave your luggage was is to be expected. Our room seemed nice however we went into the bathroom and not only is it outdated. There was black mold all over the ceiling!! There is only an overhead shower which is a real inconvenience for women who don't want to wash their hair daily. I stayed in another 4 star hotel in London and it was absolutely stunning and they only had an overhead shower and they had the courtesy to provide daily disposable shower caps with nail file. The comparison between that 4 star hotel and Jury inn liverpool is wild. Seriously would need reviewed.
The bath is very low to the ground and quite shallow. There is no grip on the bath and no bath mat provided. I believe you can ask for one but this should be common sense. My partner slipped.
The shower gel etc should be refilled to the top for each new guest - 2/3 empty containers is really off putting as guests dont want to feel like someone has used them previously.
Our room carpet was incredible dirty in places. They need to get this professional cleaned at least once a month to get the stains out. One part of the carpet was soaking wet on arrival and it's really disturbing standing on a wet patch with socks on and not knowing what you've stood on.
Our room wasn't cleaned our entire 3 night stay. I was told at reception that as I was staying more than one night that it would be cleaned yet the information sheet we received said it only gets cleaned on departure!! Firstly why? I shouldn't have to go ask for clean towels/toilet paper and secondly why have a please clean room door handle hook if they only clean after departure for each room. Makes no sense. You also have to leave rubbish outside your room to be collected because rooms aren't clean so rubbish is building up.
Overall I wouldn't stay in this hotel again. You can spend a little more money and get a far nicer hotel where little things really make a difference.
Never stayed in a hotel where rooms arent cleaned before or rooms having mold! Crazy

Good Afternoon SAMH123123, Thank you very much for taking the time to review your recent stay with us, we are glad to read that you found the lobby area and the room allocated to be nice. On the other hand, we are really sorry to hear that some other aspects of your stay didn’t reach the same high standards. We are in fact in the process of updating our signage after our environmental policy has changed the amount of turnovers that take place. Also, we'll ensure the deep cleaning happens once again and all rooms are thoroughly investigated as usual. Hoping that your partner is okay, we would love to welcome you back again soon to show our passion for excellent customer service! Kind Regards, Melisa Customer Experience Team

Stayed here for 3 nights . When we arrived the girl on reception was totally rude and hardly spoke , on the 3rd day we had to request fresh towels for our room which were dropped on the bed , the damp ones were left in the Bathroom .
Also we had to get the heating fixed on the first night .
Breakfast was not good quality at all , and the bar on one night only had 3 beers available on tap .
To rate this hotel as a 4 star is a joke .
We left and moved to a 2star hotel in Stockport and we were totally surprised by the better standard from our arrival to breakfast and the bar , also staff in Stockport were really friendly and helpful .
Jury’s take note and get your act together, or drop your so called 4 star rating .

if included in your booking yes
If you park at Kings Dock you can get a discount voucher from the hotel. You'll then need to go into the car park office to validate it.
It’s about 200 yards away, 5 min walk. Can be expensive if you in and out a lot. But if you leaving car there for your stay it’s not too bad and get discount if you tell car park you staying in hotel.
We normally get to the hotel by 1.30pm,usually the room is ready, but I think guidelines are 3pm check in
Yes,you tap ur room key card on a pad then call the lift..simples:)
