Detailed Reviews
Came here to stay for 2 nights, arrived on Sunday and checkout today. First impressions, nice girl on reception. Very friendly and helpful. But he warned they ask for a £20 deposit at the time of check in, which is fine but we were unaware of this before checking in. Would be useful if we were told in advance. The room had 2 single beds and was tiny, the beds were so uncomfortable i barely slept the 2 nights. The window opens slightly which isn’t great when it’s been really hot last few nights. The bar downstairs is full of friendly people who make you feel welcome when you go up to sing a song which is nicer. Bar prices are reasonable, £3.80 for double chin and lemonade and £2.80ish for a pint. The pub is always busy, even on a Monday. There’s bingo and karaoke until 10pm. One last thing, the Boise from people walking past at night, it’s so so so so noisy, it really is. I think maybe putting some signs up or asking people to keep the noise down and think about other guests would be a good idea. It’s a 15 minute walk to Mathews Street where all pubs are. 5 min walk to La Parella in Bold Street which is a Mexican i would highly recommend. 5 minute walk to train station too. Gave it a 3 out of 5 purely because of how uncomfortable the beds are, and the noise when trying to sleep of other guests walking past making a racket and how small the room is. Other than that we enjoyed ourselves. Met another older lady on reception yesterday and she too was lovely. There’s actually another bar down the stairs at the back called Ava’s bar which is always part of the hotel which we only found by accident last night, it wasn’t busy.

Booked here for a base while visiting creamfields this year with my son for one night. It was the only accommodation I could find that wasn’t extortionate for this bank holiday weekend. Then I went to read the reviews and wondered what I had done! Anyway we arrived around 10.30 am and the hotel is about 5 min walk from the train station so great start. Buzzer entry and up a flight of stairs to reception. Girl was lovely and stored our bags as I said we probably wouldn’t get back to the room until around 12 that night. She said I could check in when we came back as the reception is 24hr. We arrived back to the hotel and checked in a young lad showed us to the room (19) and gave us the wifi code. The room had a double and 2 single beds and was basic but ok. Coffee and tea stuff available and 4 mugs. Bedding was ok a few marks but pillows were awful I had 2 on top of each other and still really flat. Bathroom was compact, toilet ok and shower was large but shower head could have done with a good scrub. The sink though is a complete waste of time it is so small I soaked the floor trying to splash water on my face. And not sure if you could fill the kettle from it? We were only provided with one towel just slightly bigger than a hand towel and a hand towel in the bathroom would have been nicer to have a couple more as I was sharing with my 18 year old son. The lad on reception did say if we needed anything to ask but I think a few more towels should just be the norm. It was noisy as it is above a bar but apart from the above small issues it was fine. It’s a budget hotel not 100% but great location for creamfields and worked for us.

We stayed here last October sorry for late review. There was 3 of us 2 adults and our 3 year old we picked the keys up from behind the bar from a lovely member of staff. We had the room at the top two singles beds shower room tv and kettle milk coffee etc everything ya need. It was quiet enough for us we didn’t listen to some of the reviews we only stayed two nights it was ideally located right in centre of town bus stop to airport around the corner it’s on top of a pub and a bookies next door in my eyes everything I need 👍 a little Tesco up the road too. We had a lovely stay and will be back thanks 🙏

My friend and I stayed here (initially for two nights) to visit the city and celebrate our 50th Birthdays. We were drawn to it because of a personal recommendation and it’s proximity to Liverpool lime street station. I arrived first snd the front didn’t look like the photo I’d seen on the site we booked it from, in fact it was the much nicer larger hotel opposite that was featured ( I’d call that false advertising) After initially trying to enter through the pub entrance I was helped by the customers and told that the door to the hotel was two buildings down. The girl on reception was very polite and checked me in no problems. My room was way way away down some uneven twisty corridors . My initial impression of the room was that it was very small with two single beds quite close together no cupboard or wardrobe. There was a kettle and tea ( no coffee) it was impossible to fill the kettle because the sink was too small to get under the tap. I just filled it with the mug. There was no bin either. The bathroom was obviously newly refurbished and it was clean. The soap dispenser in the shower was empty and we had two very small towels. After retuning to the room after our night out we settled in. The noise outside our room window was just deafening. Traffic, sirens, screaming and swearing teenagers, seagulls sqwaking around the takeaway at the end of the street and beeping horns as the kids ran about in the road in front of the cars. It went on and on all night . The next morning we asked if it would be possible to be moved to another room because of the noise. ( we are aware that the owner can’t control what goes on outside the room!) When the owner came to our room he was quite aggressive and dismissive and instead of trying to help or even understand our complaints he just said we could leave! He tried to tell us that the windows were triple glazed and when we said we were surprised at that he got quite defensive and basically acted like what we were saying wasn’t true. I mean why would we lie!! He said we could have a refund for our second night if we wanted and it was obvious he didn’t care less about the fact our trip was being spoilt. . We both felt very uncomfortable and just decided that we would leave. We went to reception and he offered a small “sorry about that.” When we asked about the refund he just said “No I don’t give you that you have to get in touch with Booking.com” We didn’t think that was right and he accused my friend of obviously doing “ this kind of thing a lot before!!”
She was very offended obviously. We booked somewhere much better and will not be staying there again. As we stepped over the pile of vomit right outside the exit door we knew we’d made the right decision. Don’t stay here unless you don’t care about customer care or any home comforts. Cheap is most definitely not always cheerful FACT

The rooms are clean, the staff are friendly I didn't get a breakfast but next time I will add one to the room.
WiFi worked fine the whole duration, the heaters stopped the cold,
Definitely an amazing value for money.
Beds are not the biggest and not every room has a decent veiw from the window but for the price paid and location in town get up early and go do your exploring

+1
There was one shelf to put things on and that was of its hinges as displayed in attached photos, which is a hazard in itself.
The next was that there was a small bedside table drawer set, which could hardly fit anything on as the kettle was propped on the top, the drawers were useless as they were too small to fit any clothes in, and quite frankly they were dirty. A chest of drawers or more shelves would’ve been helpful in this situation.
The next thing is that the mirror was placed underneath where you’d hang your coats, which meant that when we hung our clothes we weren’t able to use the mirror, the mirror should be nailed into the wall and hung up, this is an unfinished job, and also put in a useless place. As seen in photos attached.
The next thing is that the mirror had a maximum limit to how far it would open, which meant we were limited to how much air we got in, therefore when the room got hot it made it uncomfortable. Therefore a portable fan should be an option for the summer. However on the other hand, although we did not sue the heater, it didn’t work whatsoever, see attached photos. This would not pass the room Certification inspection, as the necessary supplements were not In working condition.
Speaking of working condition, separate from the main lights the smaller light on the wall didn’t work whatsoever either, this would also fail the certification hotel room inspection, as the necessary amenities were not in working condition.
We were not able to use the kettle once, as inside it had rusted and didn’t exactly look the most inviting for a cup of tea in the morning.
The paintwork round the outside of the window was unfinished and dirty.
Bathroom:
There was only one bin, which meant every-time we had rubbish we had to place it into the bathroom bin, it would be useful to have two. The bin also had yellow oil stains on the top displaying rust, this is a sign of it being unhygienic for guests usage.
You can see where the toilet roll holder was, but it was not in use, therefore as guests we just had to use the bin to hold the loo roll, which is unhygienic. Again another sign of it being unfinished.
Speaking of it being unfinished, in the shower you can see where a shower rack used to be, to put your soaps and shower gels, it is not there, this is key in hotel, guests shouldn’t have to pick up shower gel off the floor, especially my partner being on crutches. Either take the metal work off the wall completely or put a new one on, it looks unprofessional and unhygienic.
The grout from the shower basin, is all yellow and looks incredibly dirty as if it hasn’t been cleaned for a while.
There was also no loo brush, which is a necessary for any toilet.
Tried to claim a refund for them making a false sale due to the room not having all working amendments and the refused

My friend and I booked this hotel for 2 nights on New Years's Eve and the 1st January. Honestly could not fault it for what we paid. Yes it is extremely basic but it was a lot better than we expected. We only paid £108 each for 2 nights and we both had a single room each. Single bed was comfy and sheets clean. Good warm shower in the bathroom and again spotless. My heater wasn't working but within 10 minutes the guy from reception had came up with a replacement heater and also an iron I had asked to borrow and was lovely and pleasant.
Lovely scouse girl on reception used to work in Next think her name was Jenny but not sure was extremely friendly and went out to the shop for me next door which was lovely of her. A genuine lovely girl and a credit to the hotel she had not long started. All staff were nice and friendly and the location is brilliant, it's right in the heart of Liverpool and next door to the Adelphi Hotel and a 3/4 min walk from Liverpool Lime Street.
I really do not know what some people expect in life, if you want a beautiful fancy hotel then pay for one and book one but for what you pay for this hotel it can't be faulted. Location 10/10 and it was spotless!! We will definitely be back on our other visits to Liverpool and will no doubt be back again this year. We have already recommended it to family and friends. Even the cleaners were lovely.
Thanks and we will be back.

Stayed here 2 nights with my partner. We paid £74 for 2 nights. It was in an excellent location close to shops bars restaurants and public transport. It has no appearance from the outside however it was an adequate accommodation which was reasonably priced. You get what you pay for. There is no lift here but states this when you book. We were on the 1st floor (2 flights up) i didnt take any photos but our room was clean inc bedding. We had a tv with remote. Kettle which i didnt use. Tea facilities. The blinds were broken and was quite light in the mornings but this didnt bother us. We were able to open the window and the hotel already provided us with fan when we entered room which we adjusted and kept beside our bed. It was very warm in the hotel but between the fan and window it kept us cooler. I asked to borrow a hairdryer which they were able to provide and i asked for extra toilet rolls and towels and these were provided very quickly. Staff were really friendly. For what we paid we thought it was good value for money. Room wasnt huge but was adequate for our short stay. There was a bar downstairs which was noisy on the sunday night but was much quieter on the monday. The karoke bar underneath was very enteraining and the staff were very welcoming. We have rebooked for december as we really enjoyed our stay. Some people just really love a moan.. if you want something fancy you will need to pay more.

It’s not a hotel if:-
No bedside cabinets
No beside sockets
No bedside lights
Non functioning TV
One slimline pillow per person
No soap
No shampoo ( one reluctantly provided, something a previous customer left behind)
No coat hangers
No hairdryer
No coffee (there was tea)
Kettle provided, however the shape of the sink didn’t allow filling the kettle. So either use the shower or bring bottled water.
No room cleaning, Stains in the Toilet bowl, Stains on cabinet
No shower/bathmat
For £148.50/night, with no breakfast…….
When so many things are wrong, and you are only there for one night, your over night stay is ruined

With the key card comes a little note from the hotel saying it's a family run business and 'reviews matter more than we can imagine'. Well I hope that no members of their family ever have to stay here. I have stayed in hotels with my job for nearly 30 years and this is easily the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. What they call a single room is more like a box room. An idea of how small, I can stand in the middle of the room and if I hold out my arms sideways, I can put both my palms flat against either wall. The 'bathroom' door cannot open fully because it hits the bed. When I sit on the loo, my knees touch the side of the shower. The switch for the heated towel rail was loose. There is no slip mat in the shower, which is raised 12 inches from the floor. The sink is so small I can't put the kettle under the tap to fill it, I have to collect the water in a mug and pour it into the kettle in instalments. The tv is at right angles to where I lay me head on the single pillow. An insult.
