The Novotel Liverpool Centre Hotel delights guests with its central location, making it a breeze to explore nearby shops and attractions. Its amenities, including a clean pool and sauna, contribute to a pleasant stay, although some visitors note the pool size and shower pressure could be better. Clean, well-maintained rooms are often praised, despite occasional décor being seen as outdated. While the atmosphere generally receives compliments, the bar atmosphere and noise from the street and hotel facilities sometimes detract from the experience. Service quality appears to vary, with reports of both friendly and less accommodating staff encounters.

We stayed here earlier in August for my husband's birthday. We arrived on an early flight and the hotel stored our luggage for us before check in. We have stayed previously and weren't disappointed this time. A great hotel in prime location for all Liverpool sight seeing. 5 minute walk from the bus station, 10 minute walk to the Docklands and around 5 mins or so to Matthew Street. Our room was clean and comfortable, breakfast great and staff pleasant. I appreciated the birthday card, balloon and chocolates left in the room for my husbands Birthday. The pool was great you need to pre book your 30 min slot (it's small) but a great amenity to have. The only negative is on check out I would have expected to be asked how our stay was this didn't happen. Recommended for a great base to explore this fascinating city.

I stayed one night in this hotel on Saturday 8th February 2020, it was a last minute booking as I had an urgent trip with work.

Firstly when I arrived at the hotel to check in the young lady at the desk was very friendly, very welcoming and we had a little chat while I was checking in, I explained I had a flight the next afternoon and asked about late check out, she added an extra hour to my check out at no additional cost, this was very appreciated.

My room was a queen room with a sofa bed, the room was absolutely immaculate, spacious and very modern, there was a safe, and a small fridge perfect for storing drinks and food.

The bathroom is as also immaculate, the shower was great with lots of pressure, there’s plenty of towels to.

I had a parcel delivered to the hotel, reception rang up, held onto the parcel for me and got me a trolly to take it to my room, just really helpful.

I went for a swim in the hotel, the pool was very nice, luckily had it all to myself, there’s a steam room and gym also.

I had some drinks at the hotel bar on the Saturday night, again the staff were really friendly, really helpful.

Breakfast on the Sunday morning was very enjoyable, it was a buffet with everything you can think of.

The location of this hotel is perfect, right at the heart of the city with walking distance to everything going on, some great restaurants on the same street too.

If you’re driving there is a Q park secure parking unit next door to the hotel, I’ve used it before and it’s reasonably priced and quite secure.

I can’t say enough good things about this hotel, I’ll definitely stay here again and I’ll recommend it to friends and family

Separate bathroom and toilet, no hand washing facilities in the toilet. That meant light switch, door handle of toilet and handle of bathroom all touched before you could wash your hands.

Not nice and how many people don’t bother and then touch tv remote control and light switches?

On arrival the reception staff were efficent but not particularly informative, they made us aware of booking a breakfast slot but made no mention of pool, gym or any in room services. Not a problem usually but in the covid era we felt a little left out. The hotel is immaculate and well maintained and we paid extra for the executive room on the top floor which is great if you don't want any noise from hanover street. The room itself was very spacious and i think that's essentially what we were paying extra for as aside from bathrobes and a nespresso machine everything was pretty standard. Slightly weird layout as the toilet was seperate from the bathroom but there was no sink in the toilet and i was surprised to find no bath although the shower was good.

Room amenties were fine but presumably due to covid no brochure or in room phone meant we were not aware of any room services available and although i did mention it was our anniversary on booking there were no options made available to make our stay extra special. There is a good view of the cathedral from the room. The hotel is in a superb location right in the middle of all that Liverpool has to offer and it's worth considering just on that basis. Breakfast in the morning was nice again considering the obvious restrictions in place and checkout is painless.

Despite a few disappointments about our stay at the right price we would happily return as this hotel is in a perfect location.

Have stayed in Novotel’s before and we were disappointed with this one. It was clear from the start that there was not enough staff. On arrival there was a large que at reception and it took a while to be checked in. In the bar the tables were not getting cleared of empty glasses etc. We were there for 3 nights and on the first night we were in an executive room looking onto Gradwell Street. It was very noisey with cars screeching out of the car park opposite all night and a lot of noise from late night revellers. At 6am in the morning there was a lot of noise coming from a lorry delivering to Home Bargains below. After a poor nights sleep we asked to be moved and they gave us a quieter room on the 5th floor looking onto the lane which made a huge difference. On the second day our key card wouldn’t work which meant joining a que at reception again to get it rectified. There always seemed to be a large que in the morning for breakfast so we decided to go out and found an excellent restaurant around the corner called Cote which was excellent and actually cheaper than what the hotel was offering. On the plus side the hotel is very central location with easy access to all of the shops, restaurants and central attractions.

Do not be fooled by the 4 stars! Even the photo of the reception area is false! It looks nothing like it!

Check in was easy but staff didn’t share information with you about breakfast, pool, bar or restaurant times. There was also a large stag party drinking, chanting, swearing and getting in everyone’s way. They were left unchallenged!

Reasonable location. Close to bars, restaurants, shops and tourist attractions.
Room was adequate, spacious and clean.
Breakfast was reasonable with plenty of choice and fresh food available.

The bar and restaurant close far too early and the whole place is always short staffed!
No room service available.

The worst bit is the spa, and when I use the word SPA, I use that loosely! What it actually is is a tiny pool with a 2 person hot tub (which isn’t hot) and a steam room! The place was dirty and to say it’s probably been closed for months it was shocking to see the showers, changing rooms, lockers and bathrooms in such disrepair! Doors hanging off, soap dispensers hanging off the walls. Dirty walls and floors. Toilets don’t flush. No staff. Dirty towels everywhere. No hand sanitizer or soap.

Still hiding behind COVID and not offering housekeeping in rooms, (really there’s no staff), but yet they think this disgraceful and disgusting spa is acceptable! Hiding behind this to keep their 4 stars!

General manager and staff only respond to positive reviews, and when I spoke with Jade it was like this was brand new information and she had no idea, like all the locker doors and equipment had just broken right that minute, saying she would get onto housekeeping! This shows the low standards of this hotel and their disregard for keeping it safe, clean and welcoming.

Myself and my wife have recently stayed at the Novotel Hotel in Gladwell Street, Liverpoool. It is approx 5 minutes away by Uber to the Comedy Club, which is why we booked there. The staff were very helpful and the room and food were great.

Make sure you use the Q Car Park opposite and not the one by John Lewis, as you cant use the 30% off car park discount there.

Some three to four hundred metres away from John Lewis in Liverpool One, this is a hotel that is useful for the shops. Also useful for many local restaurants. Q Park is next door and offers parking at city cente prices although you do get a 30% discount from the hotel.
Rooms are 'chain hotel' style but comfortable and clean. Bathrooms are adequate as are other room facilities such as television etc.
Breakfast is on the ground floor and comprises a modest selection of cold compotes, bakery etc. Hot food is the usual British selection. Reception is very low key, a couple of manned small tables and hotel personnel have hand held devices to check you in. If you book ahead you are able to check in online and thus save time on the day. Booking in can occasionally get hectic with a queue stretching to the front door, a shame that other personnel were not deployed at short notice.
Overall a handy, reasonably comfortable place to stay in central Liverpool at a competitive price.

Booked 4 nights via Expedia with breakfast included at a very reasonable rate. Check in a little delayed as not enough rooms ready - later found out this was due to severe delay of fresh laundry delivery to enable them to make up the rooms. Not anyone’s fault & hotel staff remained calm & professional, despite some irate guests showing their exasperation with the situation.
9th floor bedroom was spacious & well equipped. Large bed seemed a little hard at first but it was very comfortable & provided excellent support for my back.
Bathroom had a bath & double shower with excellent water pressure. Room well equipped with fridge, spare pillows & towels, iron & ironing board
Breakfast was a pleasant surprise as quality of items was excellent - particularly the bacon & sausages. Great selection of cooked, continental, yogurts, cereals & pastries available.
Hotel so central for all the main sights of the city. Would happily stay at Novotel again.

Great location. Check in was easy. Lifts are a bit annoying as you have to swipe card and it doesn’t always work. The room was nice and had a fridge which is always a positive. Also proper cups for tea and coffee, not paper cups which is so annoying and an excuse left over from covid.
The bathroom arrangement is odd. The toilet is in its own room with no sink so you have to go into the other room to wash your hands. I don’t think this is very hygienic. Also the toilet room smelt strongly of urine during my whole visit (three days) despite asking for it to be cleaned.
The bar area is pleasant and relaxing. Breakfast was average, just what you’d expect for a hotel like this.
Parking is in a good multi-storey next door and you swipe your ticket at the hotel to get a 30% discount when staying there.
I’d say three stars if it wasn’t for the bathroom.
