The Hilton Liverpool City Centre hotel has earned mixed reviews, with its central location being a highlight for guests, offering easy access to local attractions and dining. While the amenities, including a quality breakfast and executive lounge, receive positive mentions, some guests have called out the need for modernization and improved maintenance.
Travelers often find the value disappointing, citing outdated amenities and issues with service consistency. Moreover, the atmosphere and room conditions are frequently described as dated, with cleanliness varying from meticulous to unsatisfactory.

Hotel's Favourite
Have stayed here numerous times over the years and once again it didn't disappoint. It's in a great location and the room was comfortable and spacious with a great view. Breakfast was great as always and the staff really friendly. Ideal for what I needed

We stayed here in two rooms (corner suite and a king deluxe park view) for a Saturday night.
Location
You can’t really beat the location in Liverpool. It is convenient for shopping in Liverpool 1, all the dockland redeveloped areas, restaurants and bars as well as most of the museums and attractions. Best of all, it is adjacent to the excellent John Lewis store.
Parking in QPark Liverpool 1 is extremely straightforward and convenient, and also good value at £13 for 24 hours (with the 30% reduction when you get your ticket validated by the hotel upon check-out).
Check-in and out
This was friendly and straightforward.
Rooms
Our corner suite on the sixth floor was very spacious, clean and in good condition. We considered it to be good value for money at £171, including breakfast.
Our son and his partner were in a deluxe park view at £140 and they were also happy with this room.
Beds are large and comfortable, with good quality bedding. Our bathroom in the corner suite was high quality.
My only gripe with the rooms is that the air conditioning/heating system is difficult to navigate and understand, and doesn’t always do what you want it to do.
Staff
The vast majority of staff that we encountered were polite, friendly and helpful, although some could provide better engagement with guests, even during these strange times. Sometimes, it felt like the hotel was short-staffed.
Food and drinks
We had room service once, which was rather basic and cold by the time it got to our room.
Breakfast was very good under the circumstances, with a good choice of food, appropriate social distancing measures in place and everything carried out in an orderly fashion.
Covid19 measures
Generally, we were happy with the measures that the hotel had put in place and all staff wore masks. As for the other guests – some adhered well to the measures in place, but others paid scant regard, especially younger guests.
We enjoyed our stay here, even during these difficult and unprecedented circumstances.
Main pros were: location, quality of suites, breakfast, staff.
Main cons were: noise from other rooms late at night when the younger guests return from the bars and clubs. We were woken up at 3am by loud noise from a television in a room below us. Hotel staff need to monitor this situation, especially on weekend nights.
The hotel also needs to consider that not all guests are in Liverpool to frequent clubs and bars. The music in the bar area (and during the reception on the first floor for executive guests was too loud to hold a proper conversation.

Overall we had a good stay. I'll break it down into positives and negatives.
POSITIVE
Beds very comfy and large.
Room spacious.
Excellent view of the Albert Dock. (Exec dock view room.)
No road noise.
Breakfast overall very good with lovely coffee, despite being from a machine.
Two small bottles of water provided.
All staff encountered were friendly.
Receptionist reduced our extras bill by 50% after mentioning our issues.
NEGATIVE
Room was cold. Air conditioning blowing cold, although set to 30°. We didn't change rooms as we weren't in the room long between checking in and going out and thought it would warm up in the interim. By the time we got back in after our night out, it was too late to change.
Shower was crazily powerful and not in a good way. It sprayed a fine mist, rather than a water downpour and the head was non adjustable. There was also water spraying out of the back of the showerhead. The bathroom was soaked after we'd both showered.
There was a chip in the bath.
The grouting in the bathroom needed a good clean with a toothbrush and bleach, also around the shower screen joints. I hate to see mould and discolouration when it is so easily remedied.
Cobweb on ceiling above bed. Yes, cobwebs can happen anytime but this one was thick with dust.
Both fried and poached eggs at breakfast were hard boiled.
The bulb next to the mirror in the room went a minute or so after I turned it on. I reported it to reception. When we got back to the room, someone had been in but the bulb had not been replaced. As the room was dark, it was needed for make up application etc.

Dear J3KTN, hank you for taking the time to submit your review and highlighting the issues you experienced with your stay. May I please take this opportunity to personally apologise, this is by no means the standard we at Hilton Liverpool strive to achieve. We welcome all feedback both positive and constructive to help us consistently improve our service delivery standards. I greatly value all customers’ feedback, as it is the best measure of how we are performing and where improvement is needed. I do hope despite this we can welcome you back in the near future to demonstrate the level of service we strive for here at the Hilton. Kind regards. Marcus Magee, General Manager

Room was too warm and the noisy air con didn’t seem to cool it down. Shower was lukewarm on the hottest setting. Too cold to get fully under. I don’t understand why and tried leaving it to run a while. Breakfast was a joke. So everyone can help themselves to milk, touching the jug handles. ..But we can’t help ourselves to the hot food. Where’s the sense? Having waiters serve up the hot food is their way of limiting how people have and for £20 for breakfast it wasn’t worth it. No plant milks or yoghurt on offer so my only option was the hot ‘buffet’.
The staff are lovely and professional. The view was lovely from the room and the location is excellent.
Would try somewhere else next time I’m afraid.

From an excellent booking experience thanks to Yasmin, our return visit to Hilton Liverpool Centre was a treat from beginning to end.
Being a wheelchair user, I expect challenges wherever we stay but from the outset, the staff at the Hilton made every effort to make our stay run as smoothly as possible and they succeeded 100%. From ensuring our accessible room, moving chairs around in the bar and restaurant to spotting us approaching the electronic doors and quickly moving to operate the doors so we could pass through without hindrance.
Our room was immaculate and the policy of housekeeping on request offers a sensible response to current difficulties which also gives guests the freedom of choice; unfortunately it meant we didn’t enjoy the friendly welcome and chat with the housekeeping staff as often as previously, but casual encounters still let us enjoy their cheerful local knowledge . Benefitting from our unusual summer sunshine, our effective air con was particularly welcome. Our room had plenty of space to turn and park my chair without blocking off half the room. The accessible bathroom had lowered washbasin and marble tops, with the wet room shower controls and even washing line at lower level to suit those wheelchair bound. In fact, I realised that every facility in the room was customised to be as helpful as possible to the less able.
We had dinner one evening in the restaurant and breakfast on two days. Dinner was excellent with fresh ingredients cooked to perfection. Whilst it was no great test for the kitchen, my fish chips and peas was amongst the best I have tasted, and my experience in that dish is extensive. My wife had Caesar salad and loved every mouthful. Breakfast was efficiently managed and the ingredients for our Full English were perfectly cooked and individually fresh and tasty.
As always, the staff at Liverpool Hilton were very friendly and faultless in their service. Surprisingly a point which stuck in my mind was the lift service. Here they are speedy and efficient. No breakdowns and no long waits whilst the lifts bounce around the upper floors that can be a distinct irritation in other hotels and, in common with all other public areas - visibly immaculately clean.
In all, our stay was an absolute pleasure in every aspect. The central location of the hotel in Liverpool One is marvellous, placing it right on the doorstep of both the shops, cultural areas on the Docks and close to the amazing selection of exotic food outlets of Bold Street and Hanover Street. It suited us down to the ground.

We didn’t book this hotel, we were booked in as a gift along with tickets to see Jack Whitehall at the M & S Bank Arena. So the hotel was ideally situated just over the road from the Albert docks. A really nice area which we’d like to come back and wander around during the summer. The hotel is just on the doorstep of Liverpool One a great shopping area.
The reception staff were very efficient and friendly as were the staff at breakfast the following morning. A nice touch was the text message from “ Harry” when we arrived in our room asking if everything was ok.
We often stay in Premier Inn’s because you’re guaranteed a good quality stay with reasonable comfort and facilities. Now obviously we were expecting the Hilton to be above & beyond these standards with the reputation the brand has. Fortunately our expectations were met. We had a lovely room, with a very comfortable bed, and a superb bathroom. I like a shower over the bath because it gives you both options. The shower was definitely adequate flow wise. The towels were So soft and thick and the products at your disposal smelt very nice too.
The tea/ coffee facilities were also very good.
We did think the restaurant/ breakfast area was very similar to a P. I. But that didn’t bother us. We thought the idea of the different types of flowers at each table was a good idea so that you could remember which table you were at. The food selection was very very good. Absolutely loved the variety of fresh fruit rather than tinned. The hot selection was also top notch
Another little touch we noticed was that there was a match on between Liverpool & Watford on the Saturday. The hotel had put up a notice board for any fans who were staying there giving them advice on how to get to the ground.
We really enjoyed our overnight stay and we will definitely be back in the summer.

We had two rooms on the 5th floor, a kings and a twin room.
Both rooms were of good size, when you arrive at the room, the doors have a tape to advise it’s very clean. This was definitely not the case!!
Lots of dust in the room, remote was not in a sealed unit as stated, 2 tiny packets of alcohol swaps placed near the tv.
The fridge in the twin room was disgusting and had definitely not been cleaned.
Be warned that the shower took forever to warm up and you would be waiting for a good 10 mins before it was usable.
Also our sink kept getting blocked, awful when you are having a wash and the water did not drain away.
The app is worth getting, especially to use the messaging service.
I had message to get more towels, and they were delivered straight away, I also messaged about the sink blockage and it was also dealt with, unfortunately as the sink kept blocking I didn’t ask for them to keep returning, due to COVID-19.
There is a notice saying masks must be warn, but we hardly saw anyone wearing one.
Also, maybe a good idea to put a notice up near the lift to state one social bubble to enter at a time, as on several occasions other people were getting in the lift with us, and had got argumentative when we pointed this out!
The hotel is in a good area, and this is the 2nd time we’ve stayed here, but unfortunately won’t be returning due to not a good standard as before.

This hotel is definitely the best Hilton brand in Liverpool. While the room decor is not too outdated, a refurbishment would not hurt (especially in terms of the TVs).
The check-in was outstanding and my Hilton membership was recognised and I have received an upgrade. While the main executive lounge was not in a normal operation, the hotel did provide service for guests with exec lounge access in the evening (free bites & drinks) in a nice, airy area on the first floor.
I can highly recommend this hotel. It’s a definitely better choice than the DoubleTree located in the city centre, especially if you have a Hilton status and if you want a room without a leaking sink and appliances that do not work.

+1
When we arrived in the room after check-in there was a strong chemical smell from the bathroom.
After a day the smell has changed from a chemical smell to a sewage like smell.
Toilet wasn’t cleaned thoroughly from previous guest. When toilet was flushed, foam raised level with toilet seat. I feel this is very unhygienic.
There is a open air vent hole directly above the toilet. And is evident the ventilation doesn’t work in the bathroom.
Tiles on bathroom floor are broken enough to cut feet.
When showering, the water runs off the bath and floods the bath no matter how careful we showered.
There was a used cotton bud behind the sink basin from previous occupiers, visible from the mirror.
No bathrobes or slippers were provided.
Room carpet looked and felt unclean.
Room furniture and walls were scratched, stained and worn out.
Bed was comfortable and the location is very central.
We asked for two double Beefeater g&t in the bar priced £4,5 on the menu. We were expecting to pay £18. Bill came to £27; apparently tonic is extra and same price as a single gin. Outrageous. A whole bottle of Beefeater gin is less than £15 at Tesco. We complained and they took only £3 off the bill.
The overall experience wasn’t a good one and the state of the room was simply shocking as it is an allegedly 4 star Hilton.
We won’t be going back.

We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel on 26th September. We stayed in a corner suite room with breakfast included and four complimentary drinks to use in the upstairs bar - we felt this was good value for money. I’d read a number of negative reviews of the hotel but we had a really positive experience. The only small issue was a difficulty we had in turning the air conditioning off. We could only turn it off by taking the key card out which turned the light offs as well. When the air con was on it made the room uncomfortably hot but without the air conditioning the room was a really comfortable temperature. We spoke to a lady on Reception and they resolved this issue for us while we were out for dinner. Thank you for a lovely stay, we would return.

I had a flat screen tv when living there so in the room I had it was updated.
Don't know if this answers your question but we got a code off the website and yes it worked. We booked directly with the car park.
I believe you can get discount for both cars
you can control the temperature in the room
I very much doubt it. Ask the Hampton if they offer this service or there might be somewhere nearby.
