This must have been quite something in its day but this grand old hotel feels and looks very tired and is in need of a very hefty cash injection to get it anywhere near its former glory. The first room I was allocated was on the 5th floor but it had no wifi coverage so I was moved to room...

Thank you for your comments after staying with us yesterday. The complimentary wifi should be available throughout the hotel, but we are aware that it sometimes fails to work correctly on the 5th and 6th floors. Our breakfast has a choice of over 30 hot and cold items and I am pleased that you found it ok..... We are in...

The building itself is good, big and interesting but it's tatty. We had booked a quiet room which it was because it was on a Mezzanine floor miles from any other rooms and the lift which was fine. Except it was directly above the ballroom and they had a very loud party on until gone 1 in the morning. Breakfasts...

Thank you for your comments after staying with us recently. How you can call this wonderful hotel tatty, is beyond me..... I am sorry you were disturbed by the noise from the Banqueting Hall having requested a quiet room, this was an error on the part of the receptionist who checked you in and I will let the reception manager...

The biggest hotel we have ever been to and although we can only rate it at 3 stars because some of it is in need of redecoration, it was lovely to stay in a hotel with such character which it had in abundance. The food was good the staff and service were excellent. We would recommend both Liverpool and this...

Hello and many thanks for your comments after staying with us last month. That was a lovely review you wrote and it is much appreciated. The hotel is full of character and history, I wonder if you picked up one of our complimentary booklets which gives a summary of the history of the hotel and some famous guests weve had...

I loved this hotel, the architecture is amazing. It is a very big place but extremely friendly, the carpet was a bit threadbare in places but the whole place was spotlessly clean. Would definitely return

Hello and many thanks for your lovely comments after staying here earlier this month. I am so pleased you enjoyed your stay with us and wrote such a nice review. The hotel is huge with 402 bedrooms, 16 function rooms, 2 restaurants, 3 bars and health and beauty salon and the staff do their best to see to all our...

Stayed for 3 nights, changed rooms twice, no wifi on top floor, rooms dirty, food just about ok and a long queue for breakfast, went out for breakfast eventually. Lovely building but very tired decor.

Thank you for your comments after staying with us this last week. I am sorry you had to change rooms a couple of times, although you don't say what the problem was with each room..... Dining times can be very busy, we are a very large and extremely busy hotel, so again I can only apologise. The complimentary wifi is...

Stayed here as part of a coach trip, and will most certainly not be back! Came home early last night, made myself a quick bite to eat, had a bath and went to bed at 8.30pm. Went straight to sleep and slept for 10 hours - I needed it after two sleepless nights at the Adelphi! There was a children's...

Hello and thank you for your comments after staying with us last weekend. I am sorry you found the Student end of term Prom disruptive, but I can assure you they were most certainly not drunken teens. They were a group of extremely well behaved young people enjoying themselves from a local school with a number of teachers in attendance...

We stayed here for 2 nights in April for the accordion championships. The room I had was lovely, clean and comfy but the wallpaper was really dated and if the room had a revamp it could be incredible! Our friends had bathrooms that were from the 80s rather than more modern and again their rooms were clean just need updated....

Hello and thank you for your comments after staying with us in April. The Accordion conference has been held here for many years, so the organisers are well aware that we are a very old hotel, but they feel the positives by far outweigh the negatives, which is why they continue to come here. Our breakfast buffet offers over 30...

The hotel is beautiful but completely in need of an overhaul, staff were friendly, had afternoon tea there was lovely, went on a groupon voucher, but then we went to our room! It was clean but still the same decor from 30 years ago, needs money throwing at it to make it glamorous again.
