Reviews summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.
Powered by AI

The Liner Hotel garners appreciation for its prime location near the train station and city highlights, though some guests have noted the disturbance from train announcements. Clean and comfortable rooms are often mentioned, albeit with occasional noise complaints and a need for modernization. While the hotel's cleanliness earns high marks, opinions on the service are divided, with commendable staff offset by occasional inefficiencies. The hotel's ambiance is noted for its nostalgic allure, and despite some noise challenges, it is considered to offer good value, particularly for its amenities and reasonable dining options.

Just the friendliest, quirkiest, cleanest hotel having a beautiful adjoining restaurant with the most delicious and reasonably priced food. Hotel has a super cruise liner feel like you are on the Titanic. Friendly staff on arrival, early access to spotlessly clean room. Bonus of free adjacent parking overnight.

The liner offers not only a great location from which to explore Liverpool but for drivers it also offers complimentary parking, extraordinary in a city. Anyone coming by train will find Lime street Station just around the corner - about two hundred yards. Breakfasts have a very good range and the restaurant serves quality food but do beware of the refrigerators - if you so much as move any item you will be charged for it ! We return for our fourth visit in May.

I had to travel to Liverpool in order to sit an exam, and had been rather worried about staying in a hotel due to Covid-19. However, the hotel had a lot of policies in place to ensure things were clean and contact was minimised, and I felt very safe all things considered!

I was able to have my dinner delivered to my room for no extra cost (and a 25% discount on food and drink the first night since I booked direct with the hotel!), so I didn't have to go to the restaurant to eat, and the food was really tasty. It may have been a limited menu but there was still a good amount of choice, and both nights the food was great .

Breakfast was delivered to the room - a bap with your choice of egg/sausage/bacon, as well as a selection of cold things e.g. croissant, yoghurt, orange juice. I had thought I might not feel I was getting my money's worth at breakfast given the lack of the usual buffet, but there was plenty!

The staff were all very friendly and polite, and really helpful - when I found that there was a problem with my room, they immediately organised a new room for me with no hassle at all, and they were always friendly and helpful whenever I had any queries.

All in all it was a very good stay during a somewhat difficult time, and they managed it very well.

The lLiner hotel is right next door to Lime St station and a car park which you use whilst staying at the hotel. The receptionist was quite surly and not very friendly, when I asked if any of my family had already arrived she said no, when in fact they were all there and we were the last to come.
The room on the 4th floor was very stuffy and hot and the toilet once flushed took an age to refill. There was no hotel information inside the room ie what time breakfast was served, where the breakfast room was or that you couldn’t charge meals to your room (despite the hotel asking for a credit card when you first arrived) we found we had to pay on completion of each meal or if we used the bar!
Breakfast was reasonable although a poor selection of cheese (film wrapped squares) and the orange juice was reconstituted orange powder!
I think with the right management this hotel could be bought up to speed and deliver a quality service.

Nice hotel in a good location. Lime Street Railway Station is right behind the hotel. It is a 10/15 minute walk to reach the docks. There are plenty of restaurants close by. The hotel has its own car park which was the selling point for us. There wasn’t always a very strong signal on the TV and we weren’t able to access any TV station on our first night. Due to Covid issues, rooms were thoroughly cleaned before we arrived and were not entered again during our stay with housekeeping delivering replacement drinks, toiletries etc on request.

Stayed here for a weekend & was very impressed for the price! The hotel itself is well maintained and decorated, the staff were all very friendly and the room was a decent size and clean. Social distancing was practiced well with stickers on the floors in the main areas, a variety of informative posters dotted around and plenty of hand sanitizer as you went through the hotel main spaces. It’s location is ideal for those travelling by train as it is literally just up the hill from the station (I was expecting more noise to be heard in the room, but pleasantly surprised with how peaceful it was). Overall, a wonderful stay to explore the city and would absolutely visit again.

We are happy to hear you found our crew to be friendly and that our COVID-Secure policies were in place throughout your visit. I’m also pleased you found us ideally located to Liverpool Lime Street Station and that thanks to our triple glazed windows, the proximity to the station did not cause any distribution during your visit. Hotel really close to station and the city centre , excellent location. Arrived early and asked if we could leave our bags , the rooms were ready so they checked us in 4 hours early, lovely surprise. All the reception and concierge staff were very friendly and professional. We had 2 rooms, next to each other, slightly different but nicely decorated, extremely clean and spotless, with good facilities the beds were comfortable and the bedding was a really high standard. It was also quiet during the night which was great for a busy city centre hotel. Every part of the hotel was immaculate and clean and tidy, a really authentic cruise liner experience. Castaway bar at the hotel was nice and lovely seating areas outside. Breakfast was lovely, lots of choice and again staff were fantastic. Price was great for standard double room and breakfast about £80, really good value and well worth it, would definitely recommend and hope to stay again.

1. We arrive at the hotel carpark ( also a public one|) to find it full, but the very nice young man let us enter and wait for a space ( about 30 mins).
2. Very easy check in and all staff wearing masks or visors where necessary. including plenty of gel dispensers.
3. Room on 3rd floor very nice and clean and all facilities in room working ( see below for awful bathroom).
3. When we ran out of tea and coffee ( why is there never enough milk in hotels?) we had it replace easily by contacting reception.
4. The breakfast was a very good attempt to provide one with reduced facilities. We found the sausage and bacon or bacon and egg baps excellent quality, the plastic cheese was a bit strange though.
5. The bad bit- The bathroom was clean and fully tiled with no broken edges or poor sealant. BUT the towel rail was almost impossible to reach tucked at the end of the bath and around the corner very difficult to use. The over bath shower was almost useless and is really only a shower rose for rinsing your hair if in the bath, the problem is that it is intended to be a shower and is on a riser rail, the controls are difficult to see on the chrome mixer bar and almost impossible to adjust when wet. The head of water from the shower is very poor and it is pointless standing under it, I decide to take it off its cradle and use it that way. My wife could neither use the bath or shower as it was too high for her to get into. All these problems highlighted are due to poor architecture and a parsimonious original management, pity they weren't made to use a room for a few days. The staff are powerless to alter these facilities as they are all design and mechanical problems.

6. Pity some of the guests thought they don't need to wear masks or use the gel dispensers . We do wish that organisations would back up their staff if they refused to deal with such arrogant selfish people.

Dear Michael Thank you for your review of your recent stay with us Your feedback is of great benefit to us and we will be sure to share this at Management level. As you note, re-arrangement of our bathrooms is not an easy task but we have upgraded two bathrooms recently to provide walk-in shower cubicle facilities. We will progress with various upgrades throughout the Hotel as soon as the time allows and hope you are able to come back to enjoy them. I appreciate you noting the safety measures introduced since re-opening, it is helpful when we are working continuously to balance safety and reduced services with comfort and convenience. Thank you. Best wishes Emma

We arrived at the carpark to a friendly lad who checked us in to the carpark which was quick and easy as previously sent our reg details. We were a little early for checkin but thought we would see if room was ready. Met by a lovely friendly receptionist who said we could have our room so got our bags and went to our room which had a sealed sticker across the door to say it had been cleaned and no one else had been in, the room was spacious and clean. We unpacked and hit liverpool. Every time we entered back in the hotel there was hand sanitizer at the entrance and throughout other areas like the lifts and resteraunt and always welcomed by the staff. In the morning we had breakfast which you booked your time slot and pre booked what breakfast bap you wanted. Again the reception staff all spoke and the restaurant staff were also lovely and friendly. They served you tea/coffee and can have refills and then brought us our breakfast. We had bacon/egg and sausage bap and also on a plate was red/brown sauce, yoghurt, croissant, chocolate pastry, butter, jam and cheese block also bottle of orange juice which was more than enough to set you up for the day. All covid procedures are set up and felt very safe throughout the hotel. Overall excellent staff, excellent procedures, excellent hotel. Have stayed here numerous times and due to covid circumstances they have done an excellent job giving us a great experience.

Stayed in the Liner Hotel again for the second time this year. We had a superior room on the 5th floor for two nights, October 5-7, 2020 and a 25% dinner discount on our first night. Two bottles of water was given and a coffee making facility was in place plus the two cakes was an add on. Toiletries were provided and nice and clean towels daily. The hotel staff were friendly and accommodating. The hotel offered a bed and breakfast accommodation and as usual we enjoyed our stay. We went around Liverpool city during the day although there was social distancing rule everywhere due to Covid 19 situation, everything went pleasantly well. The hotel itself was complete with signage and covid precautions. We used the baggage left service on our last day at the train station for £6 per bag as the hotel doesn’t offer the concierge service anymore so saving us carrying our large bags around the city on our last day we left it for storage for 3 hours. Definitely recommends this hotel to stay when visiting Liverpool just 5 minutes walk from Liverpool Lime St., Train station.

The noise is really loud, but it just stopped at 12am on the dot, nice sleep, until 4.30am and it came on again, I think its only an issue on the top floor, as our friends were on the floor below and didn't hear it. you have a choice really, the train station and all the announcements, but they don't go on late or the old boiler which does kick in nice and early.
