Hotel Indigo Liverpool is frequently celebrated for its quiet and inviting atmosphere, modern decor, and spotless spaces, which include a well-received complimentary minibar. While opinions on value vary, with some concerns over room size and breakfast costs, many guests commend the prime location near Liverpool's attractions.
The staff's friendly and attentive service often earns high praise, contributing to the overall positive experience. Although most guests are satisfied with the room cleanliness and amenities, a few note occasional issues with noise and air conditioning.

Detailed Reviews
Really enjoyed my stay at this hotel, we normally stay at Malmaison Hotel but thought we would give this hotel a try as we have eaten in the Marco Pierre Restaurant here previously and saw the hotel so decided to stay here for New Year's Eve. A very pleasant stay, great location, room was very nice, very spacious and very well lit, more so than the Malmaison and cheaper as well. I am a regular visitor to `liverpool as my son lives here, so regularly visit this amazing city. The staff are very professional on the front desk, a nice welcome when we arrived and a nice checkout too. The bathroom was lovely a great powerful shower, and a nice mini bar that was complimentary, I know it was only 2 cans of pop, 2 bottles of water, crisps and chocolate bars but it was a lovely touch, which you don't get in other hotels. I would definitely stay in this hotel again, very close to Castle Street where all of the great restaurants and bars are as we were celebrating at the Alchemist on New Years Eve, it was a great location indeed, not far from the docks too an 8 min ute or so walk depending on how fast or slow you walk. we didn't have breakfast at we had a lye in due to being New Years day and nursing a hangover, so cannot comment on breakfast. A very reasonably priced stay in a great location and also reduced parking fees due to parking on their recommended car park which was a 2 minute walk away. Would highly recommend.

The hotel is in a good location, approximately a 10 minute walk to the docks in one direction, and the hub of the cities shopping in the other, there are also a number of bars and quality restaurants in the area (no more than a short walk away).
The hotel itself is nice and the staff are very friendly and helpful.
The rooms are on the small side compared to other hotels we have stayed in (for similar price in Liverpool) and it was noticable at times during our stay, but the room was very clean and there was also a couple of complimentary drinks and snacks in the room (that were replenished each day) which was a nice touch.
Overall we enjoyed our stay and the hotel and location are good.

Having booked an overnight stay a bed, breakfast & evening meal package to celebrate a joint anniversary, we were rather concerned about some of the negative reviews posted on Trip adviser.
We had nothing to be worried about the check in was friendly & efficient and social distancing rules were adhered to.
Our room was sealed and cleaned to a very high standard, our evening meal of soup, calamari, steak & chicken were delicious and cooked to perfection.
The restaurant manager was so friendly he took time out to chat and was happy to offer his wine recommendations so sorry can’t remember his name.
Breakfast again was lovely full English all round served by the lovely Shirley and her colleague again awful with names, nothing was too much trouble genuine friendly service an asset to the hotel.
A huge thank you for such an enjoyable stay looking forward to the next one will be recommending to family & friends.

Loved the smell and environment in this hotel. Sam at the reception was very helpful and great at her job. The beautiful interior of the hotel became more homey and cosy because the service of the staff made it great! From the housekeeping, restaurant and consistently helpful staff at the reception. I wish all hotel staff are like them!
They put measures to keep staff and guests safe by taking our temperature, hand sanitser every where, markings on the floor to keep our distances, even the cutlery in the restaurant were sealed! I requested for extra toiletries and towels and they were left in the room also sealed, which is great. There was also a sticker at the door when you first get in saying that the room was sealed and sanitised :)

My son and I stayed here for 1 night as part of a shopping trip post lockdown.
The hotel has taken Covid 19 related measures to ensure you are as safe as can be. There are plenty of hand sanitiser stations, rooms are cleaned then ‘sealed’, table service at the bar for drinks and a continental grab and go breakfast to avoid crowds.
The lady on reception was very welcoming and check in and out was a breeze.
The beds were very comfy, there is a large TV which you can sync to your phone so you can watch your films etc. Kettle, iron, fridge etc. all in the room.
A couple of minor gripes is that there are cracked floor tiles in the room and the shower had a mind of its own with water squirting in all directions. Nothing major and easily fixed. Certainly nothing to stop me staying again.
Overall a pleasant stay.

We chose to stay at Hotel Indigo having had previous good experience and it was a really bad decision. To be fair I will start with positives: the hotel is in a good location & you get a discount on the nearby NCP meaning parking is reasonable. Nothing else to recommend it. First morning we couldn’t get breakfast as there was a 25 minute queue for a table; the other mornings there was not a queue but there was a delay because they just don’t have enough staff. Breakfast was not good, on our last morning we had to fetch someone to take our order - which clearly annoyed him - and when it arrived it was lukewarm. Worse though was the cleaning. First day we came back mid afternoon & room hadn’t been cleaned. We called reception & they said they would sort. No one came so I went to reception to ask for new towels at least; someone did then come and give us new towels & emptied the bin, but no cleaning. The second day we came back at 5pm and again, nothing. Again, called reception and then had to sit in a corridor while the room was cleaned. We asked for the manager to call us & no call. To top it all off, when we went to check out, dinner had been charged to our room - we didn’t have dinner. The worst thing throughout was the attitude of the staff who kept saying ‘we can only apologise’ which just isn’t true. If you know you have guests who had to ask twice for room cleaning on day one and still didn’t get it, then you could have asked housekeeping to prioritise that room the next day. When you knew they’d had no cleaning again you could have called as promised. Or when guests say no, we did not have dinner, you could actively remove the charge and not say ‘leave it with us’. We won’t stay here again.

The hotel has a nice sitting area outside, and also though the lobby area is quite dark it has a contemporary feel. We dropped our bags off at 11am which the hotel kindly accommodated whilst we shopped before checking in at 3pm. It’s about a 15/20 minute walk into the city centre (possibly less if you know where you’re going.
The desk staff are warm and polite, it was a welcoming beginning. The room was smaller than expected but perfectly adequate. My 13 year old daughter and I stayed in room 619 in a double room, as this last 18 months has been so rubbish for children I was treating her to shopping and an overnight stay in a hotel. The room has an iron and ironing board, kettle, hairdryer, slippers and dressing gowns - there was plenty of tea and coffee although more cartons of milk might be an idea we has 4 of the tiny ones. However, I had emailed the hotel and asked as a special treat if they could pop some irn bru in the fridge for my daughter and they obliged which is an incredibly thoughtful touch, there was also water.
The tv has a range of channels, but we used it to chromecast from a phone to watch Netflix. The WiFi was also good.
There could be some touch up to improve the room, some of the coating on the desk is peeling and there is a cracked tile near the door but these really are minor issues.
The room looks out on to office building and gets quite hot around, the air con wasn’t great although did cool the room a little.
The bathroom was clean with adequate towels and the water was hot. The shower was also good but the screen wasn’t sufficient to keep all the water in the tray but there is a mat.
The bed was comfortable and the pillows not too soft. The room is quite some distance from the lift and this area was very quiet.
The reason the review is a 4 star and not 5 is down to breakfast. My advice is stick to the continental it was plentiful and nice, the tea and coffee hot. The cooked food unfortunately was below par. I asked for bacon, poached egg, tomatoes and mushrooms. I got hard bacon that was very dry, a tiny poached egg (only one), half a grilled tomato which was under done and still cold, and 4 mushrooms. I’m pleased we didn’t eat in the restaurant the evening before, there are so many restaurants close by which are very good, I suggest you venture out. Overall, we enjoyed our little stay. I would probably stay again.

Ok so after choosing this hotel, we had high hopes as it’s 4* and had good reviews..... Well it was a big disappointment. Considering it is part of the cleanliness promise hotels group, it was far from clean. If hotel cleanliness is important to you then just scroll past this hotel when looking for one please! There was dust, months old on tables and surfaces, worn out decor and floors, and curtains were in need of a wash!
Getting on to the beds, these were a joke! Had a twin room with single beds. As u got on to the mattress it felt as though I was going to go fall through to the bed base. Absolutely ridiculous for a 4* hotel. And bed bases were scratched and worn, a terrible, unsightly mess to be completely honest.
The breakfast was nasty the 2nd day. It was not cooked (well done) as we asked and scrambled eggs were soggy. After alerting staff about eggs, we were expected to keep the rest of the breakfast which went cold! So then had to request a whole new breakfast. Utter joke! We were told not ask for anymore cutlery as there was a shortage. However there was one lovely well mannered lady, who stood out, as the others were just unorganised and quite rude to fellow colleagues.
After complaining our room was not cleaned to a better standard which is just not acceptable when you pay for this service.
After our stay was over we got a 20% refund, which we were grateful for but to be totally honest this does not seem like a 4* hotel. And cleaners need to pay a lot attention to detail.

This hotel is excellent if you are staying in Liverpool for its central location, as within easy walking of all Liverpool's attractions, restaurants, bars and shops.
Whilst the Hotel doesn't offer parking, there is a bright & clean car park just around the corner with a reduced rate of £8 per 24hrs if staying at the hotel.
The main communal areas are stylish, comfortable and fairly spacious, & staff are welcoming.
Sadly the room we stayed in was a bit tired, and we had the external scaffolding as our view; luckily for the time of year we visited, this wasn't an issue.
Nice in room touches made up for the tired decor, with a couple of small bottles of wine, beer in the fridge, crisps & biscuits, along with tea, coffee & soft drinks all FOC = What a bonus!
The shower was powerful, and the use of complimentary, 'fancy' toiletries was great.
Breakfast was not included in our rate, but at a discounted upon check in price of £12pp. Whilst hot food on offer was of a good choice, the pastries, choice of cereals, and any cold continental was very sparse & disappointing.
As part of the IHG Group, this hotel is good, but I feel the Holiday Inn, Staybridge or Crown Plaza hotels offer more.
