Travelodge Liverpool Central The Strand is frequently lauded for its prime location near Liverpool's key attractions and its inviting atmosphere. Guests have called out the value offered by the hotel, highlighting the hearty breakfast options and the overall comfortable stay. However, the hotel's additional charges and varying room temperatures are a point of contention for some. While the rooms are generally found to be tidy, a few travelers warn of noise disturbances. Compliments are often directed towards the obliging staff, though there are occasional mentions of service lapses.

The location of this hotel was perfect and close enough to all attractions.
Every member of staff we came into contact with was helpful and friendly.
I asked for a fan and was given an air conditioning unit which was great.
The room was fine but with a couple of additions it would have been perfect, such as a small chest of drawers as there was little storage for our clothes and perhaps a small shelf in the shower for toiletries.
When we checked in, we were told that there was no regular housekeeping due to Covid and I really think this is just a cost saving exercise given all restrictions have been removed. When I asked for the tea/coffee to be refilled and clean cups all we received was some tea bags.
However, breakfast was a pleasant surprise, was buffet style with plenty of choice of cereals etc and the hot food was piping hot and decent quality. Much better than we have had in recent times.
All in all we were happy with the hotel, facilities and service.

Hotel room was fine, clean. Bed was comfy. There was not enough tea/coffee/milk left for 2 people. We only had 2 things of those tiny milks. The room was very hot and there was no tan. We had the window open all the time but with the location it was quite noisey. We had paid for the extra checkout time and were only staying the 1 night so was quite disappointed that the cleaners knocked twice on the room to ask to clean it, once before midday and once about 1.45pm. Why would you pay for the extra 2 hours to be disturbed?

The hotel is in a great location for the arena, other shops and bars and the National Express coach station which was only a ten minute walk.

Check in was swift and the staff very pleasant. When we got to our room it was a typical Travelodge and clean except for dried mud on the carpet by the mirror and no soap in the sink dispenser. As we were rushing to a restaurant booking we didn’t have time to mention this to staff.

The breakfast was poor for what we paid for it, one sausage left and we waited ages for anything hot to come out. The vegetarian choice was fruit and either a cold croissant or pancake however they did have lukewarm soya milk upon request and there was one soya yogurt in the ice bucket. Maybe we caught them on a bad day but supplies of everything had dwindled and there wasn’t much left considering it wasn’t late in the breakfast slot. On the upside the ladies working there were very pleasant and seemed to be working very hard.

When we tried to leave the hotel it took over 15 minutes to manage to get the lift, which we needed due to lots of luggage. Not ideal when we were in a rush.

Really disappointing on this occasion but if I couldn’t find anywhere else at a reasonable price I’d consider giving it another go.

This hotel used to be absolutely brilliant. The staff was always friendly, couldn’t do enough to help you it was just fantastic.

Now all has changed, where as the bar used to be open till 4 am, it is now closed when I returned at 11 pm, the staff saying it was the government, the night before I stayed at the premier in and the bar was open all night.

The rooms are no longer changed each day, so expect to use the same towels and to make your own bed, we run out of loo roll fortunately there was a Tesco below the hotel so we just went and bought some as the reception area was busy.

Bar prices are extortionate expect to pay double what you will pay in the nearest public house, you will also wait quite a while to get served even if you are the only one in the bar area.

breakfasts are of low quality ingredients at a very high price, you will not get value for money there, instead I would recommend you locate the nearest Wetherspoons so that you can get better quality food at a fraction of the price of what travel lodge charges.

The staff are nowhere near as friendly as what the old stuff used to be, I have been going there for about eight years in total. Unless this hotel gets back to what it used to be I will certainly be staying elsewhere due to my visit to Liverpool.

Firstly the staff are super friendly and I couldn’t fault them at all and the location of the hotel is perfect for exploring Liverpool city centre as it is literally in the middle of everything so I can’t fault it for either of those two things.
We stayed in room 311, this room was on the side of the hotel partly overlooking the Albert docks which was nice, we were hoping for a front facing room but as we could see the docks we decided to stay where we were, what a mistake that was. What the Travelodge website fails to do is inform you CLEARLY that there are construction works taking place behind the hotel. I’m not even sure it was on there when I booked, maybe a phone call or email would of been nice just to let me know. It is on the website but very unclear and you wouldn’t notice it without searching for it. If I was aware of this I probably would of booked somewhere else. This was my week off work and I was hoping for a lay in but unfortunately due to this construction work, that did not happen, they started at 7am. The soundproofing on the windows was dreadful.
The sink in our room was blocked and took ages to drain the water, looking down the sink hole made me gag. The light in the bathroom was buggered, it took forever to come on and then had a disco for a few seconds before it decided to provide actual light. One side of the bed creaked to high heaven and I think my partner was scared to breathe Incase it creaked. The duvet cover had been put on sideways and the hole where the duvet goes into the cover was on the side of the bed and not the end, which was strange. The remote control in the room had no back to it.
On the last morning, the day we had to travel 5 hours back home I went to get into the shower to find out there was no hot water, on enquiring this with reception we were told the whole hotel had no hot water, a note under the door would of been a nice little touch, just to let us know we were going to be stinky buggers for the rest of the day.
Don’t bother asking to leave your luggage in the luggage room either because they haven’t got one, I’ve never known a hotel to not have a luggage room, or at least somewhere safe to store them.
Travelodge needs to move with the times, all the rooms I have ever stayed in with them are shoddy, this being the most shoddy of them all. Plug socks by the beds would be nice. I would not stay here again and I don’t think I’d ever stay with Travelodge again in the future

The lift was broken so we travelled up 7 flights of stairs each day, staff didn’t care and we seemed a hassle to even be there, no on site parking and a very disappointing discount for the local car park, great location as right on the docks but room was always too hot with no air con and window only opened a crack so people don’t jump out.
No room service so we had the same towels and made our own bed, toilet paper tan out and it was a nightmare to find any staff to get some more. Won’t be staying again but for the price it’s pretty much one up from a hostel anyway

We visited this Travelodge in March 2022, the reception staff were very friendly and efficient. This hotel is in a brilliant location to visit all the local attraction of Liverpool. The rooms were nice and clean but very basic, as there are no drawers just a few hangers for clothing a luggage rack to put your suitcase on would be very helpful. My room was at the front of the hotel and the noise from the road was very, very loud, the windows are only single glazed so I would recommend ear plugs if you want a good nights sleep. My friends had rooms at the back of the hotel and due to the building work ( which began at 7.30am) going on behind again the use of ear plugs would be good. It might have been nice if Travelodge informed customers prior to booking about the ongoing building noise. There are 2 small lifts to service the rooms but during our whole visit one of them was out of action.

When we booked this property it had a note saying that we should expect noise from construction work taking place behind the building. This was not an issue for us as we planned to be up and out early anyway. When we arrived the ladies on reception were so welcoming and friendly, they were keen to keep us away from the noise and tried to find us rooms at the front of the building. They were also so helpful in recommending places to go in Liverpool! Our rooms were great, clean and comfortable. We only seemed to have 1 cup in our room and 1 spare pillow when 2 people were booked in but we asked reception for another of each item and they happily helped us out and delivered them to our room - nothing seemed to be too much trouble! The location is great - right opposite Albert docks and just a 5 minute walk from Liverpool one and there is a Tesco express in the same building as the Travelodge! We will definitely stay again next time we visit Liverpool!

I managed to get a night's stay at very low cost (around 35 GBP). The room and bathroom were clean, the bed was comfy, and I slept very well. Good location close to the water and the central shopping street, and plenty of restaurants nearby. Overall a very good stay. Note that you have to pay extra for wifi (more than 30 minutes), which is okay for the price I paid per night, but if I had to pay more, I would think this a bit over the top. Also, the shower only has a combination of shampoo/shower gel, and no conditioner (I'm a bit picky about these things, so went out to get some shampoo and conditioner - there are plenty of shops nearby). Also, there is no hairdryer in the room, but you can borrow one without extra cost in reception.

Good location, comfortable bed. No air conditioning but close to attractions and bus. Bring your own soap and shampoo - dispensers in our room did not work. Cleanliness was average. Good breakfast and very friendly and extremely helpful staff.
