The Radisson Blu Hotel in Liverpool offers clean and spacious rooms with comfortable beds, highlighted by its convenient location near the town center and dock area, which guests appreciate. However, some visitors express dissatisfaction with the hotel's value, pointing to overpriced rooms and underwhelming dining options.

Detailed Reviews
We booked here on the basis of cost and the fact it had a pool etc. The staff we met were excellent especially the waitress and chef at breakfast, breakfast was excellent plenty of choice everything individually sealed for infection control. Rooms clean the only thing to let it down was the condition of the spa generally dirty looking flaking walls whirlpool out of order due to broken tiles. Would definitely visit again at the price we paid.if u are travelling by car there is a secure carpark close by and cheaper than booking.com quote.we did get lost walking into the city but if u walk the right way it's only 10 mins

Nicely situated in the historic Old Hall Street, close to the Dock area and main attractions and with NCP car parking nearby at around £13.50 per day.
The hotel is modern in design and the reception bright and welcoming, check in was quick and friendly.
Our room on the 8th floor was a good size with large bed, shower and bath, tea/coffee making facilities glasses and ice bucket and a safe. Fridge currently out of use however there is an ice machine by the lift.
The hotel does also have a bar and a restaurant if you don't feel like going out but there are some excellent restaurants nearby with just a short walk. There is also a spa and gym on site.
The room did have flaws such as no sockets by the bed, very soft pillows and it felt quite dark as there was only one window and the lighting not really adequate. Our view was a nondescript office clock however there are rooms available with river view.
For breakfast you need to book a time slot and the food was very good with a great choice of hot and cold food and beverages, the poached eggs in particular were exceptional.
Just be aware that if a large coach load books in your breakfast slot is likely to get moved without consultation!!!!
The main issue we had with this hotel was the noise at night. Due to the design all the noise in the foyer is funneled and has nowhere to go but up and on two consecutive nights we were kept awake by other guests coming back in from bars etc in the early hours and despite being on the 8th floor we could hear pretty much everything being said, this needs to be addressed by the hotel management to ensure the comfort of the other guests.
Apart from this we did enjoy our stay as did the friends we were with it was just marred but these couple of niggles.

There are both positives and negatives to this hotel.
Positives for us....
1. Location - slightly out of the central area which made for lovely walks for us along the waterfront from the cruise terminal down to the Albert Dock.
2. Staff at the hotel were all polite and helpful. From the front desk, to Vinnie in the White Bar and the staff at breakfast everyone was really friendly.
3. Breakfast - buffet and continental, a good selection of food and everything was fresh.
4. The view from our room! We loved having a river view room and enjoyed watching the cruise ships sail out on to the Irish Sea. We stayed on the 8th floor and the view really was lovely.
Negatives....
1. The furniture in our room was a little tired. And the bathroom tiles in places needed replacing.
2. We stayed for 3 nights and our room wasn't serviced. On the second day I asked a housekeeping person on our floor for fresh towels/coffee etc. She was very polite and helpful asked if I would like the room serviced, but by this time it was 4pm and we just wanted to relax.
3. The hotel restaurant wasn't open on an evening. Despite it saying that it was on the in room hotel tv. Given that many people are holidaying in the UK this year, it was difficult to get a table to eat out in Liverpool during our stay. On the second night we were tired and decided to eat in the hotel. We were disappointed to be told that they were only serving food in the White Bar. Vinnie the girl behind the bar really did her best for us and found a table behind the bar area - which was the sole table in a large wide open area. The food we ordered was lovely when it arrived, but the area totally lacked atmosphere. The Radisson is a 4 star hotel and as such should have a restaurant that is open for dinner every evening without question or excuse.
4. Soft furnishings on the chairs in the White Bar were extremely stained, unsightly and really need replacing.

On my way back to the raddison blu we drove past the Travelodge, that looked much better! Where do i start with this place. From the beginning then. Badly cleaned room, drinks stains on the marble bedside tables (really easy to clean so why weren't they) we were put into a superior room, which is what we booked BUT fell for an upgrade scam to Premium room which was in fact the superior room we booked (which doesn't have a rain shower) and they put two bathrobes in the cupboard and charged us the upgrade fee. This was refunded when I complained but thats not the point. No one wants to feel like they've been scammed. Both the front of house manager and the night manager both agreed that it wasn't a premium room (in the end) but that was only after a meeting took place where screenshots had to be produced from their own Radison Rewards members app which showed our room wasn't the one described on their online descriptions or even that of third party websites. I could go on and on!! Dont fall for the upgrade scam and if you're thinking of going for any room other than standard you'll be paying a lot more for very little indeed. All the reviews of of staff appearing disinterested are likely correct although they did engage for me but only after a nudge in the right direction. I'm gutted I never paid an extra 20 to 30 pounds a night to stay in the crown plaza even the same to stay a jurys inn (which looked great by the way) or even the travelodge whose location looked fab and likely much cheaper. If You're hoping for premium and a cut above this Radisson Blu is not it, the view over the corridors down the internal atrium is unique the rooms aren't a patch. Either save you're money and stay somewhere cheaper for a better cleaner room or pay a little more to get what this place doesn't deliver. And dont fall for the upgrade scam even at any price even for a fiver it wouldn't be worth it. The coffee pod machine in the room was dirty and need scrubbing clean before I put water in it and even then no spoon in the room, at all. Minor point but very annoying when you've paid a premium for a lousy pod machine and cant even stir it without making phone calls. Also the front of house manager admitted there was a huge problem with people running off (apparently lol) without paying so it's likely to will have to pay up front on check in, unless you use a credit card, which we did, but still they took payment up front. This meant when we wanted room service it wasn't possible unless we returned to reception again to have the card pre authorised..... again. It's a shambles people. Yes it has a pool but you wont use it probably so do yourself a favour and skip the radisson blu Liverpool.

When we arrived we were a little supervised at just how large the hotel was, a tardis.
However it was beautifully clean, the staff were friendly and a really good breakfast, we upgraded at just £10 and had a lovely harbour view (ok across the duel carriageway) but the lights at night were stunning and the sound proofing was excellent with little traffic noise. Very heavy curtains that not only helped make the room cozy but kept out the light and also helped with any night noise.
The position of the hotel made it easy to access all the tourist places we wanted to see.

I was firstly missold an upgrade although upon bringing this up at checkout the charges were removed. I also had issues with the restaurant initially refusing to seat us because they "weren't taking walk ins" despite the fact everything stated reservations were not necessary & they always take walk ins & the fact at that time the restaurant was almost completely empty, they expected my 7 year old daughter to eat in the bar instead which was packed with drunk people watching a football match & shouting at the TV & not a child friendly environment at all & definitely would not have been the special birthday meal I had promised her! The manager on reception did sort this out when I spoke to her to ask where the nearest restaurant was & explained what had happened & she was extremely helpful & apologetic of the situation & after speaking to them explained they had a large party booking that evening so had decided not to take walk ins but considering that wasn't until later in the evening she had insisted they allow us to eat in the restaurant. During the hour we were in there this party did not arrive & there were probably no more than 10 tables in use at any time! I also felt the room really wasn't up to the standards I would expect from a Radisson Blu or worthy of the money it cost me, the extractor fan in the bathroom made a very irritating & loud squeeling noise that could still be heard with the door shut and there was no way to turn it off so it kept me awake half the night, the shower head leaked water down the pipe & wall whilst in use which meant there was less pressure & the tiles had dirty marks on & the grout was absolutely filthy & covered in mold/mildew in multiple places, the bin in the bedroom also smelt disgusting. I have stayed at Radisson Blu hotels both in the UK & abroad & always found the rooms to be of excellent standard, especially at the hotel in Phu Quoc, Vietnam which was absolutely incredible which is why I chose to book with yourselves but this hotel just did not meet the usual standards & I would now think twice about booking a Radisson Blu I haven't previously stayed in again. I will say the reception staff were fantastic & very helpful which is why I have given this a rating of fair rather than poor.

I recently visited the UK for one of the EPL largest football fixtures by far, the clash between Liverpool and Manchester United. Our stay at the Radison Blu in Liverpool was one of mixed reactions, hotel staff was friendly and courteous, but the rooms were sub standard to say the least. No bar fridges, no water in the rooms, but house keeping was excellence par non. Breakfast was top notch, only if you are seated early, refills are far and few and one needs to ask if anything is running low. The atmosphere in the lounge was evident of a football city and the vibe was always cheerful. With the influx of supporters being so regular, one would think that management could step up their game to update the hotel in a few areas. With close proximity to the Anfield and Goodison Park stadiums, and excellent tour sites, this would make it the ideal destination to explore the city where the Beatles kicked off their careers. However for amenities, value for money and poor state of the rooms, I would not go back or recommend this hotel unless changes were made to improve the those diminished services one desires when away from home.

We were originally placed in room 720 however, due to windows that don't open and air con that doesn't work, we were moved room at 1am to room 824. Considering the receptionist confirmed that the air con does not work I do not think this room should be used until fixed to avoid guest dissatisfaction.
Both rooms did need a good refurb and touch up of paint etc.
The breakfast food was lovely however the staff were in need of a customer service course asap. The restaurant has a menu saying on it "we love to say yes" inviting you to order fresh eggs etc, however when you ask the staff for these orders they are visibly unfriendly, making very obvious that you are bothering them, especially the red haired female manager in the restaurant. Considering they are working a breakfast shift, a smile and "good morning" would go miles.
Not worth the money for this hotel. A lot of improvements needed to customer service and the rooms. Book the nearby Marriott or Hilton instead.

We stayed here for a night for an evening out in Liverpool. I had built up points to use from previous stays at the Manchester Airport Radisson which is an excellent hotel although admittedly more expensive.
We were rather disappointed with this stay. When we checked in we were given the wrong room type and therefore had to move rooms. After unpacking we noticed that the safe was missing from the room and there were holes in the wood where it had been removed. The hotel staff didn't seem to be aware of this. Since we had already unpacked we didn't bother moving again but this was inconvenient as we had to take all valuables out with us. It was a good job we did as when we returned to the room at the end of the evening and tried to secure the room door for the night we noticed that both additional locks on the door (deadlock and keychain) were broken! The duty manager sent someone up to the room to confirm this and who then offered us complimentary breakfast although we didn't end up having it as we wanted a lie in. It was also too inconvenient to move rooms at that time of night so we just relied on the key card lock and barricaded the door.
What we didn't understand was why none of these broken security features were previously known to the staff and why we were given a room with all these problems when there didn't appear to be many people in the hotel.
I complained to Radisson's Customer Services department afterwards who attempted to contact the hotel but they apparently didn't respond. Customer Services kindly refunded my points which was much appreciated but I think this reflects the problems with the actual hotel itself.
On a positive note the room was clean with a view of the Mersey and beds comfortable and we had checkout extended by an hour (this was granted on check in).

Booked this as a last minute getaway. Arrived and the poor receptionist who was apologetic had trouble with the computer to check me in so I had to wait a long time to get my room, she put me on a high floor as requested, standard king size room. The room isn't anything special and is very dated like the hotel in general, you can see the carpets and curtains are stained and worn away. There was no fridge in the room and the air con did not work, it made noise but didn't do anything plus you couldn't control the temperature as the buttons were all broken. I asked for some shower gel and soap all told three times and then eventually found a maid who gave me shower gel but said they had no bars of soap! Not really what you expect from a four star hotel. The spa and pool was shocking, there was no locks on the lockers, no private changing area, the stairs to the pool were rusty and the pool area itself has seen much better days, I quickly got out of the pool as it just didn't look clean with evidence of damp areas that should be kept clean.
As for the staff they didn't seem well trained but were polite enough, I don't think it is their fault that the management and attention to detail was poor. Can't comment on the food as didn't eat here, why would you when you have so much choice around you.
Location was pretty good and plenty of shops and bars within walking distance, 20 minutes to lime Street station and 5 or 10 min walk and your at the docks.
Liverpool is a fab city. Wouldn't stay here again unless refurbished.
