The hotel's cleanliness receives high marks, with guests frequently acknowledging immaculate rooms and well-kept facilities. While the rooms are often described as small, the modern amenities, including Sky TV, and the comfort of the beds compensate for their size. Lovely hotel at amazing value in the city centre, less than a 2 minute walk to matthew street, cavern club, and the shopping area. Staff are friendly and seem to speak a wide range of languages! You can pay £7.50 for late check out with breakfast included which is a great perk! The room we picked was quite small and had no window, though we knew this when booking (it's the cheapest option). It did kind of feel like a room for one, so maybe is ok for couples but would feel cramped with a friend? No complaints though as we knew this when we booked! The shower was incredible! I just wish the rooms had more than 1 plug!

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us at Z Liverpool. We do pride ourselves on our "great location" right in the heart of Liverpool city centre. I am glad to hear you enjoyed your stay at our "lovely" hotel and found us to be such "amazing value". Our staff are a real asset to the hotel so I a happy you found them to be "friendly". Our ethos here at Z Liverpool is Compact Luxury. This means that while our rooms may not be the largest we do fill them with special extras such as the full Sky TV package, the "incredible" power shower and handcrafted bed. Due to the compact nature of the rooms our bathrooms are designed with frosted glass walls. Therefore, we only recommend sharing our rooms with family or very close friends. And please note for any future stays with us that our 24 hour reception are able to provide extension leads for our guests upon request at any time. We hope to welcome you back to stay with us again.

Hi June, Thank you so much for taking the time to review your recent stay with us at Z Hotel Liverpool. I'm delighted to hear that you found us to be "fabulous"- and we must say that our guests are equally fabulous! Our staff are also a real jewel in our crown, and I am pleased that you found them to be "very friendly" and "very clean"! The Z brand is, of course, one of compact luxury, and I'm glad that you found this to your liking and appreciated the little touches that make Z a home from home. I hope that you and your sister enjoyed her Birthday at the Cavern, which, as you say, is just a stone's throw away from the hotel, and we look forward to welcoming you back again soon :)

Me and my partner stayed at the Z Hotel in Liverpool for my birthday.
We hadn't planned it, we had previously stayed in a Travelodge and wanted to stay another night in Liverpool but since it was a Friday night most places put their prices up to over £80 a night! This place doesn't seem to do that because we got a room there for £45 (could have been £40 but we opted to pay £5 extra for a room with a window)
So pleased we found this place and will definitely be staying again!
Staff were welcoming, the place smelled and looked great.
Our room was immaculate, free toiletries and fresh clean towels, even a bottle of water in the room with glasses.
Surprised that we got a 40 inch TV in the room with sky TV!
Overall it was a great stay and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay in Liverpool.

We visit this hotel as often as we can, we love it, staff are brilliant, friendly and helpful. Our problem this time was the cleaning, or rather not cleaning, of the room we had reserved for 5 nights. We could arrange for bin emptying etc at reception, but, I feel cleaning should be automatic after 2 days, now that Covid restrictions have been lifted. Cleaning rooms is happening elsewhere, as we found out over the weekend where we had a 2 night stay for our Golden Wedding celebration proper. Your charges have increased- a five night stay in mid August cost us less than our 5 night stay in early November. I get that charges have to increase, but hotel service should be provided, this includes cleaning rooms ,it's part of the reason why most people book a hotel. That said, we will be back, we love the hotel and the staff. But, please, reinstate the 2 day cleaning!

Dear Pakamack, thank you for taking the time to write your review. I am glad that you enjoyed your stay with us, in regard to the cleaning at the time of your stay housekeeping were cleaning stayover rooms on request, this was to protect our guests and team members by limiting the amount of people entering a room. We are now back to full service and stayover rooms are refreshed as they were pre Covid. Our prices also fluctuate according to demand and events going on in the city, no two days are the same in Liverpool. We are really looking forward to welcoming you back to the hotel in the future.

I will try to keep this as brief as possible. Starting with check-in long Q but it was bank holiday weekend. Some of the clientele looked more akin to renting rooms by the hour if you get my drift. Anyway we got checked it despite the rave going on in the reception.

We arrived at our room on the 4th floor, on opening the door you can be forgiven for thinking you had entered a cupboard it was so small. The bed hard up against the wall with a small bedside cabinet, there is a glass surround separating the bed and toilet/ shower.

The room was very unwelcoming and probably the smallest room we have had anywhere.

The worst thing was when we checked the bed! As you can see from the attached photos hygiene is not the strong point of this hotel. The bed was absolutely putrid 🤢🤮. I will let you make your own mind up from the photos but mind first impression of the hotel was confirmed as a hotel that probably lets rooms by the hour!!

Obviously we about turned and went back to the reception and spoke to the manager. On showing her the photos her reaction was “ We sanitise the beds after each use” yes it looks like it eh! They need incinerated. She did say she would “speak” to housekeeping.....perhaps if this “manager” did her job in the first place there would be no need for me to be writing this kind of review.

To add further insult we were unable to get booked anywhere else in the city centre due to the holiday weekend so we made the four and half hour trip home.

Poor show from Z Hotel Liverpool not only did you lose on the cost of 2 rooms local business also lost out on our spend.
Hotels have had MONTHS to get their act together given recent restrictions and this is the best Z Hotels can muster up.

Z Hotels you are a disgrace to the city of Liverpool.

Thank you for your feedback I am sorry to see that your first impressions of our hotel did not meet your expectations. We have thorough cleaning procedures in place and have reviewed all of them after reopening. Our housekeeping department does work very hard to keep hygiene standards up, as we genuinely believe these are a must in any hotel. All our beds have mattresses protectors and pillow protectors on them, and we wash those after every departure. In addition, we do sanitise our mattresses, and from time to time, we have a professional company coming to the hotel to clean them. After your feedback, we are reviewing all mattresses in our hotel and take the necessary actions if needed. On the weekend you have stayed, it was very busy Bank Holiday in Liverpool due to being the first one the city has been able to experience open since the lockdown and closure of hotels. This did cause some busy periods in Reception to check-in. After investigating further, you were refunded for both rooms as soon as you provided your feedback. Our team also helped you find an alternative accommodation in the city for the duration of your stay. We are sorry for the inconvenience during your stay, and should change your mind please contact me directly at sarah@thezhotels.com

This is our second stay in a Z hotel and unfortunately, it was nowhere near as good as the first stay in Bath. The room (Queen bed with window) was looking tired and a little shabby. We asked about the so called ‘happy hour’ where they previously (at Bath hotel) served complimentary wine and cheese. I was told that because I’d not clicked the Z Member button when booking, this was not available - pretty petty, in my opinion. The staff were generally polite and helpful and as long as you’re not paying the much higher room rates when the hotel is busy, it’s good value for a budget hotel.

I’ve stayed at the Covent Garden Z hotel and absolutely loved it, so chose the Liverpool branch to stay after a recent night out.
I agree with some other reviewers that the fragrance in the communal area is very strong although I like it. It’s a great location and rooms are well set out and comfortable - incredible value.

If I hadn’t been to Covent Garden before I would have thought it great here but staff are quite cold and snappy. Cheese and wine is good quality but limited choice, and only one small glass of wine per person which surprised me after the generosity of Covent Garden.

I’ll definitely stay at Z hotels again and highly recommend the chain, just not this particular one.

The Z hotel is great value for money. I particularly like the fact that they have Sky TV most especially Sky Sports. The hotel is very quiet which is something that I appreciate. It is located just five minutes from James Street railway station and about fifteen minutes from Lime Street station. They are in the process of replacing their mattresses because many people including myself found them too hard so they added a topper. If you book direct with Z hotels you benefit from a 10% discount on the price of the room plus a free drink every day. All the staff were friendly most especially the manager Sarah.

Thanks for taking the time to review your recent stay with us. I'm pleased to hear that you found us to be "great value money" as we know how important that is during these testing times. It's also nice to hear that you enjoyed the complimentary Sky TV, including sports and movies, as this is a lovely little extra that we offer as a "thank you" for choosing Z. Thank you for your understanding regarding the mattresses, which as you mention, we are in the process of replacing. Many of our guests enjoy a fabulously firm mattress, but we appreciate that this is not for everyone. We hope to welcome you back to Z Hotel Liverpool in the not too distant future!

Perfect location for any visit to Liverpool and offer discount price £8 for 24hrs parking at the moorefields car park just make sure you get it validated at the hotel before you leave or you’ll be charged £25 per 24hr!
Would definitely recommend staying here, we love the Z hotels!

This is one hotel you are not going to change. The price of the rooms in this hotel are quite cheap for the quality and luxury that you find in them, it is a hotel that is perfectly focused for tourists, business people or short stays.

It has a friendly and attentive staff for anything you need. I can say that the rooms that I have stayed in have everything that anyone wants for the price they are paying.

In general about the hotel, you enjoy the option of breakfast, lunch, coffee and bar. It is very well located, you can go to any tourist place in the city walking from its location and find any number of places around the hotel, as well as streets with a lot of nightlife.

Honestly, a hotel that for the price and the location is perfect
