Travelodge Liverpool John Lennon Airport garners praise for its professional staff and proximity to the airport, making it a convenient choice for air travelers. Guests appreciate the clean, comfortable rooms, with the added bonus of tea and coffee facilities.
While the hotel offers good value, some guests mention additional costs for Wi-Fi and parking as downsides. Despite generally positive feedback, noise from various sources can be a concern, and the location is noted as being less ideal for city-centered events.

Detailed Reviews
A really huge thank you to Becca and Summer who were really helpful and welcoming when I dropped off some clients yesterday who were booked in to the hotel for four nights. Becca very kindly and quickly resolved a booking issue that wasn't really the hotel's problem - thank you so much! I was impressed by how clean, modern and secure the hotel was and in such a quiet location. I have been reliably informed that my clients had a great night's sleep, and have really enjoyed both their breakfast and evening meal - which was great value - 2 courses for £12.50. They are more than happy staying here. The hotel offers free and secure car parking, is ideally located for the airport and is also not too far from accessing all the attractions that Liverpool has to offer. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Stayed whilst visiting friends a few miles away, had moved the original date due to Covid.
Parking was perfect and rightly restricted from use by the airport by use of a barrier system with code.
A modern feel and a spacious reception/bar/breakfast area greets you. Receptionist on arrival was lovely and changed our room from a twin to a double without a problem. The room was spotless, bed was big and comfortable, the shower powerful and hot and I didn’t mind ‘pre-drinks’ from a mug!
A quick drink in the bar and Instant taxi ordering to head out was convenient. The key card access on return later and for the lifts means the hotel has a secure feel.
Unlimited breakfast pre-paid in the morning was tasty, hot, with sufficient variety and all in all this was a faultless stay with friendly staff and superb value for money.
You get what you pay for… on this occasion we got more!

I had to book this travel lodge last minute after breaking down on my journey back from Scotland and turned up Saturday after 11pm.
The place basic but clean, friendly and helpful staff behind reception.
Comfortable bed and a nice powerful shower.
Breakfast was good but only scrambled egg (no fried) and I didn’t see any vegetarian sausages as advertised on the menu. They have cereals, yogurt, croissant’s, fruit, fruit juices, toast with jams etc, and then the usual hot breakfast items- lots to choose from and in my opinion very good value for money.
A good nights sleep on a very comfortable bed. A good nights sleep, great breakfast and back on the road the next day. Thank you.

Upon arrival with three small children we were given rooms two floors apart and one was only a double, not a family like we had booked. Shortly before 3am doors started being repeatedly banged and lots of shouting could be heard, the smell of cigarettes was so strong that we had to sleep with our window open (above a noisy road). The shouting and banging carried on for nearly 2 hours on both floors that we had rooms on, there were two dogs in the next room that barked constantly because of all the noise in the corridor!. I could not leave my room as I was alone with two small children and my husband was alone in another room with our 2 year old. The two children in my room were quite upset by all the noise as it was very loud and there was a lot of shouting. Reception was unattended so there was no point ringing down. At 5.30 am there was a member of staff with a trolley collecting glasses in the corridor (sunday morning!) they went up and down several times rattling glasses and banging the doors. As we were packing I checked under the bed to see if the children had dropped anything only to find dirty socks that were not ours and food scraps. We waited in reception to hopefully speak to someone at checkout but unfortunately nobody was around with it being a sunday morning

What went well: Smashing location, very handy for all you might need in and around the local area, from the car plant to local government agencies. There's a few decent eateries nearby if you're travelling or on the road for work, and fancy a 5 or 10 minute walk from the hotel itself.
The staff are, in the main, very pleasant and approachable. I'd go so far as to say some even seemed grateful for kind and authentic customer interactions. They clearly work hard for the money, and engender that kind and friendly quality synonymous with the area, which makes up for some of the deficiencies at the hotel. The rooms are fresh, clean and well cared for, and all else is pretty much standard Travelodge fare. Good start.
Even better if: Hmm; check in was rubbish, frankly. The colleague on duty was was more interested in watching the football which was showing on the TV, and very happily communicated this fact to anyone who might listen. As we checked in, we counted 4 times that we were ignored, walked away from, spoken over, or laughed at. The Scottish bloke behind us in the queue was having the same experience, and as he was being served due to some unbeknown delay with our check in procedure, and as we stood aside, he let it be known that he didn't like not being paid attention to. This was to no avail, as we all ended up with rooms we didn't actually ask for. It was a stupendously bad experience and I'm actually embarrassed for Travelodge that this might be considered okay. It really wasn't.
The heating in the hotel, particularly in common areas, wasn't particularly great. We and some other guests had mentioned this to the duty staff one evening, but it seems there wasn't too much they might be able to do to help make things any better.
The real takeaway (no pun intended) was the variable quality of the food served in their restaurant. I'll dare you to try their "fish and chips". It wasn't actually food as I understand the definition, demonstrating to the colleague who served me that I had to use my hands to snap the fish goujons in half, so hard were they when served up on my plate. It was a gastronomic experience without equal, and I was offered absolutely zilch as a replacement! Honestly, it could constitute a comedy if it weren't so serious a consideration; when one pays for food, it's kind of expected that actual, well cooked food might be served. The last meal I ate there resembled someone's science project, and I was not the only one who fed back.

Huge thank you to Clare on the night shift Saturday 14th March. Clare was so kind and helpful to me when I arrived delayed, cold and wet from the airport at 1.30am on returning from Fuertuventura. Clare took me and all my bags up in the lift to my room. She provided me with a hairdryer and put the radiator on for me in room and only left me when she knew I was more relaxed and knew how the room worked. Thank you very much Clare - you were kindness itself and just what I needed. All the best to you Tracy Lock

The single beds are extremely narrow and uncomfortable. The window in the room seems to have been poorly constructed and a lot of cold air entered it throughout the night. The breakfast was not very good. The scrambled eggs were overcooked and unpleasant. I asked about getting poached / fried eggs instead. I was told this wasn't possible. The coffee machine wasn't working. The fruit salad was not worth eating and no fresh fruit was available as an alternative. I generally stay in Premier Inn hotels. Now I know why.

Got to the apartment to find a dirty room with unclean surfaces, found actual toenails on the bathroom floor and a dirty used spoon in a fresh cup on the table expecting to be used. We told the staff about this and the response was an apology and a new spoon.
Very hot rooms lead us to open the window, however as we did so the handle snapped off. (This is potentially a health hazard as it could have fallen from our third floor and harmed someone outside below)
Don’t bother paying extra for the food or WiFi, food was disgraceful with half burnt sausages and soggy warmed croissants. Some mornings there was very little breakfast selection.
To access the WiFi we had paid extra for there was a very long and personal form to complete and ended up paying more for the hours we used.
I may be complaining a little too much but there was also nowhere to store clothes and by the end of our stay a strange sewage smell arose from the bathroom.

We stopped over before a flight.
The first thing that struck me was the staff member patiently holding the door open for us.
We bought some drinks at the bar but they could only accept cash as their machine was broken. Our bill was £11.20 but we had no change so the girls just tool £10 from us and put the rest in from their own pocket.
Claire and Nicola, Travelodge is lucky to have you!

If all Travelodges were up to this standard I would most certainly be using them more often.... really impressed with this modern clean hotel. The recepition staff very welcoming, the room was clean and tidy, the bed on first impressions a little firm but was extremely comfortable. Very grateful for the lift to the upper floors. Although close to the airport once inside the building the planes could not be heard. Also very close to the NT property Speke Hall wich was a pleasant surprise. Plenty of parking available. Wifi was brilliant and much cheaper than some other more expensive hotels. I didn't use the restaurant so can't comment on that but if the menus (left in the room) were anything to go by would have been very good. All in all a very enjoyable stay, I would thoroughly recommend this particular Travelodge and would use it again in the future.
