Stayed here for 3 days got a family break during Covid. Location was superb with just a 10 min walk to shopping centre and about 15 mins to docks
Rooms were a good size with lovely comfy beds and fluffy pillows. Really powerful showers. The NCP was just 5 mins away and I thought it was a good deal of £36 for 3 days car parking. The bar was nice and had a good selection of beers. Got a good deal booking directly.
Only slight gripe was that room card kept not working and had to go to reception about 5 or 6 times to get it reset. I asked if I could get mobile keys as this was mentioned on the Marriott app but apparently because I didn’t ask for this when checking in I couldn’t get it after. Bit strange. Overall a good hotel in a good location and would definitely stay here again

Positives

The staff were all very friendly, welcoming and helpful. They gave my wife and I an anniversary card on our arrival alongside a bottle of procecco which I requested. Nice touch. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The hotel is in a beautiful building in an excellent location in the centre of Liverpool, and a few mins walk from Mathew Street where the Cavern Club is. The hotel has a huge bar / restaurant area and has a good selection of cocktails and beers, but there are cheaper options in the vicinity.

Areas to improve.

Breakfast selection was fairly average for the price. Coffee served in cardboard cups. A pot of tea / cafetiere full of coffee would've been a nicer touch alongside some toast / jams. Very few egg options and the scrambled egg wasn't nice. The free WiFi never connected on the 4th floor where we were but worked in the lobby / restaurant area.

Thank you Jamie S for your lovely and constructive feedback. Due to the current situation we have had to move breakfast to a smaller kitchen with in the restaurant its self, this does limit us on what we can offer. Hopefully we will be able to move back to the main kitchen and offer a larger range soon. I do hope we can welcome you back again soon.

Stayed at the aloft for a night with our staffy. Upon arrival reception we're very friendly and efficient.
We were in a basement room as we had our dog with us. Room did have windows although it was a bit dark, didn't bother us though.
Really appreciated the beanbag for the dog!
Room was quiet, we did often hear another dog barking but it's to be expected when sleeping in the dog friendly area of the hotel. Given the central location of the hotel we didn't hear any noise from outside the hotel.
Parking is only a short walk from the hotel, I found the drive to find the parking easy enough.
Hotel is in an excellent central location within a short walk of the shops, restaurants and bars.
Unfortunately we didn't enjoy breakfast, it was awful but I can't imagine this is there usual standard of breakfast. Reception apologised as they were having staffing issues, they dealt with it well and refunded our breakfasts.
I'd recommend the aloft especially if your taking your dog.

I always try and stay at Aloft when I’m in Liverpool I normally have a great stay but feel it’s gone down hill. Could only get BBC 1 on the tv the room service was tasteless and the breakfast was all a bit meh and over cooked in the morning. However the bed was comfy and shower nice. Might be worth training staff and what dairy free though

Thank you jessandcraigandeggy for taking the time to send us feedback on your recent stay. I have passed your comments regarding the TV onto our maintenance team for them to look in to and resolve as this should not be happening. I have also pasted your comments regarding breakfast onto both out new head check and the restaurant manager so they can find out what happened and come up with a resolution so this will not happen again. I do hope we can welcome you back again for any future trips to the city.

When my friend and I arrived at this hotel we knew it was situated conveniently in the city centre and when we went up to the room it looked modern and inviting. Unfortunately this was just image and we did not find any substance. We stayed in the first room we were allocated for only 1 night and the reason was that the fan in the shower did not work and my friends clothes were soaked in condensation. The duty manager was attentive enough and we were allocated another room which we were told would be an upgrade. The room was actually the same size as the previous one and had no extra features. As an additional 'concession' we received two complimentary drinks vouchers, the first of which my friend wanted a Pink Gin and Tonic. What my friend actually got was an ordinary gin and there was no tonic. I was told that more Tonics would be delivered the following day. There were no proper Gin Glasses either until I suggested that a display glass be used. I was told that the glass was dusty so I asked that it be cleaned and the result was a disappointing gin and lemonade. The following day the Tonics hadnt arrived and we received another two more complimentary drinks vouchers. Overall the staff were well meaning but they seemed badly trained and floundering. My friend and I decided that we would leave a day early and we were glad we made that decision. We are aware that getting stock is always going to be difficult under the current circumstances but there was no urgency to think outside the box and adapt. Management seemed powerless and flustered. We did not bother with breakfast on any of the days as the £10 price tag was excessive. The hotel looks stunning inside and out but the rest is extremely disappointing.

Dear Valued guest, Thank you for taking the time to write your review from your recent stay, and highlighting some issues to us. I would like to sincerely apologize that on this occasion we did not meet your expectations. We take guest feedback extremely seriously , and have already acted upon it , by investigating the short comings from your stay. Rest assured the shower issue has been fixed , and we now have Gin glasses and tonic.. Supply chain issues are a bit of an issue at the moment , but believe me, we are working tirelessly hard to ensure this does not impact our guests. We are a fairly new team here at Aloft , but are working hard to train the staff to be able to give the best guest experience possible, amidst dealing with a huge volume of guests. We are making great progress with this, and I hope that if you choose to stay again , we can show you how great we can be! Kindest regards Amanda

We had booked a two night stay through Secret Escapes - it appears the prices we paid was almost the published price for the room we were allocated, but with the addition of a bar drink each on arrival, and breakfast on both mornings - so financially a good deal.

A warm and helpful greeting on arrival - and staff very friendly throughout our stay.

Our room was nicely furnished, although there was only one chair (it was a double room!) and storage space was rather limited for anything longer than a two night stay. WiFi signal was good. However, "housekeeping" was rather minimal, no doubt excused by "Covid". The morning room service consisted of the bins being emptied and the duvet roughly pulled up. The bed was not fully mad, the tea bags were not replenished and cups and glass were not replaced or washed. Not really 4* hotel standard....

The breakfast was good, with a choice of full English or Continental, but paper cups again not showing 4* rating.

Parking in the centre of Liverpool is rather an expensive luxury (no fault of the hotel!), but Aloft has a deal with a local NCP car park with a special price of £12/24 hours, half the normal published rate.

The location of this hotel is excellent. Its walking distance to all the major sights and the NCP car park where you pay a discounter 24 hour rate is less than two minutes away.

The building is stunning and the rooms are of a good size for a city centre hotel. Reception staff were very friendly.

Why the three stars? It's the lack of cleanliness and amenities. There were two towels in the room, no hand towels, no toiletries, no slippers - the standard that is provided by the Marriott Group. We asked for extra pillows as they were very soft and not suitable to use for sleeping and were told that their supplier cannot provide these. The mugs and cutlery in the room were not clean (the first time I have experienced this).

The breakfast was disappointing - not upto the standard of the Marriott Group. The dining area had not been cleaned properly. Table and chairs had crumbs on them and were sticky. Some Cutlery and crockery had not been washed (left over egg on a fork and plate). The breakfast choice was OK, they did provide freshly cooked eggs if requested but everything else was only replenished once whilst we were having breakfast.

One of the big no no's was no hand-wash in the washroom. That is an absolute must!!!!

I would recommend this hotel for it's location and the interior of the building is beautiful but I felt that they were trying to cut corners to save costs. I am sure that if they addressed the shortcomings, it could be as soon as most of the Marriotts that we have stayed at.

The room was clean, large and had the perfect amenities. I had free wifi, a kettle, teas and coffes, a safe, a tele, plug sockets, shampoo conditioner and soap, take away coffee cups and a very comfy bed.
The breakfast in the morning was lovely, a mix of full english, toast, cereals, pastries and fruit was offered with tea and coffee or fruit juice.
Would recommend if wanting to be close to city centre with a good nights sleep.

Booked the Aloft Hotel in Liverpool for this 5 day 4 night break. The hotel is situated within a 6 to 10 minute stroll from the Cavern club. The area location is good, close to all the Beatle`s locations and only a 15 short walk down to Albert dock.
The hotel itself is designed around a “New York” loft living experience, allegedly, the room was clean and compact, but with very little storage for clothes!
The meals were always cold, breakfast and evening meals, the evening meals taking up to 2 hours to be brought out. All of our coach party complained to the Aloft Hotel management, but quite frankly there was no improvement by the time we left on the Friday. A number of guests were so annoyed they gave up on the evening meals altogether and ate out.
We complained immediately to Alfa by telephone and verbally to the coach driver, and once back home made an official complaint to Alfa via email. Alfa investigated our and no doubt many others customer complaints and were eventually given a small refund.
The Aloft hotel blamed the waitressing staff, but clearly the Aloft management were extremely poor in managing the situation.

Booked through secret escapes, Central location, can walk to the Cavern in a minute. The hotel is in the former Royal Insurance building, some nice features remain. We had a king size bed, nice city view. However the shower flooded the floor each time we used it, maintenance did come and try to sort it, but it left a smell of blocked drains, not pleasant!
The window sill was very tatty and in need of a lick of paint. We stayed 2 nights but bed was not made, our supplies / towels not replenished. We had to ask for towels and more coffee / tea sachets. Unfortunately walls are thin and we could hear all other occupants.
On the second night, a man was arguing with someone, and it sounded like he was smashing up the room. We had to call reception who gave the man a warning. This helped for the next hour, then it started again. Unfortunately the low price we paid can attract the wrong sort of people.
We took advantage of happy hour both nights and had some lovely cocktails. Breakfast was average, the only fresh fruit was apples, and a defrosted bag of frozen berries. The cornflakes were a brand we'd not heard of. There was the usual hot items you served yourself from heated silver serving dishes.
Staff were friendly. Not sure we'd stay again owing to the thin walls. A budget friendly hotel if you are not expecting high standards.
