I have stayed in many Travelodge over the years and have only been slightly disappointed on one occasion. You always know exactly what to expect and it suits me perfectly. This travelodge is very near to Southwark tube but also within easy walking distance for sightseeing. There are several restaurants close by - one next door. The area felt very...

I had a meeting round the corner from here so it suited me very well. Parking is a short walk away -- I would ordinarily not drive into the heart of London but on this occasion had no choice. The website indicated parking was £12 overnight -- but my 17.00 arrival and 10.30 next day departure cost £36... having to...

Every night when we arrived at the hotel, hot and tired their was nobhot water in our rooms. Mind you we had to rooms and we were told they would credit our room for the inconvenience but they did NOT. It was very aggravating.

Air con didn't work well and windows were not opening so basically I woke up in a hole with no air to breathe. Water from the tap stink. Hair dryer was not present in a room I had to go to reception to ask for it.

Hotel was in good location, staff were helpful and friendly but the room although clean smelt very badly of damp and there was no window to let any clean air in. Stayed on 5th floor room 516. Could have asked to move rooms but didnt want to make a fuss and presumed this was a hotel wide issue

It's a standard travelodge! Easy, friendly and cheap (for central London). Very comfortable and convenient, only criticism was that not being able to open a window meant there was some mould around the window, and the bed was a bit squeaky, apart from that it did the job for a night!!

Has to be one of the worst travel lodges I have stayed in. Broken glass on entrance was not replaced within a week. Rooms needed a good deep clean. Food in the hotel was very good but ordering become a nightmare as there was no permanent bar staff

Good points- close to Southwark Tube, 5 minute walk to Blackfriars Mainline and Tate Modern. The room had a bath. Bad Points - On entering my room on the first floor the there was a strong smell of mould and disinfectant. I went to open the window to let in some air and the windows do not have the facility...

Fire alarm at breakfast, dusty light fittings, worn carpets and no working power sockets on a previous stay. Good location but there are other options offering better value, the brand has lost it place in the market as competitors have improved their offer

Pleased with location. Near the millennium bridge so central location. Right by Southwark tube which was handy when you've travelled far. Some pubs / bars nearby to go for a drink to. Shop right under neath which is open 24/7.

Staying in Southwark

Neighbourhood Profile
Southwark
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighbourhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
