I give it 2 stars for the charming staff and the central location, because the rest was terrible for me. The rooms, apart from small, need to be redecorated and the lockers must be fixed, and the mattresses were quite uncomfortable as well. Regarding the breakfast, I think it was quite poor, I was expecting a bit more. There was...

Stayed here for 2 nights in August. Although $45 AUD per night for a 22 bed dorm, it was unfortunately the cheapest option for us at the time. The rooms are located on top of a pub. Although there is no communal area, guests are welcome to chill out in the bar downstairs and are even able to take their...

The hostel is in a great location next to Waterloo Station and is only a 10 min walk from the Houses of Parliament. The hostel is great value for money which means you always have to book in advance. A great breakfast is included in the price. I can't find any faults the Walrus as seen in other customers posts....

It's a really lovely place to stay, clean and warm. I found the code system to access rooms pretty complicated (read: sometimes you can spend a lot of time typing your room code, trying it over and over, before your door will finally open). Mind it's located under a bridge, people with light sleep may struggle a bit to fall...

For the first time in my life (I am 64 years) I decided to stay in a hostel, I had no idea what to expect but I was open to a new experience. I checked into the bar, it had a nice relaxed feel to it, I was greeted by a very friendly efficient young lady who took the time...

Toilet didn't flush, so it was always filthy. Railway line was literally five metters from my window, wich means it was impossible to sleep even with earplugs. The only common area is a very dark pub. The room was so small that people had to leave their luggage on their beds and sleep with their feet on it. Lockers in...

We stayed one night in the hostel in July 2015. Upon arrival we were greeted warmly by the staff at the bar and given any details of our stay. The hostel is right next to Waterloo train station which is a lovely area of London, only a short walk to several touristy attractions. The only downside to this is that...

The pictures on the Walrus Hostel's website shows new looking rooms that are spacious. We were put on the top floor in a 10 bedroom dorm (which we chose so that's fine), but the room was realistically only big enough for 6 beds. There were only 8 lockers for 10 beds, and room for two people to have their bags...

This little hostel is great in many ways. Although old the bathrooms are clean and functional. The 28bed dorm was roomy enough, there was a place to put valuables and your beds were already made. The staff were all very friendly and the breakfast decent. But none of the people seemed to want to talk!? May have been bad luck...

We were in the city for only 1 night to see a gig and so chose the Walrus based on location and reviews. And I am truly amazed at the value, location and the hostel itself! We were welcomed in the spacious, bright bar area by some lovely staff, one of whom showed us around the place and took us...
