First let me say if it were called a YOTEL or PODTEL or any of the other hipster names there would be no critical reviews. The room we had for two nights was comically small. The shower hysterical and storage space nonexistent. Like the old joke says the room was so small you couldn't even change your mind. With that...

my daughter booked a junior suite for one night 28th April for 3 adults. It was 11pm before we arrived and found a double bed and a single bed which was obviously meant for a child. The bed was low and uncomfortable and smelly!!! The next morning we went down to breakfast later than we intended due to our late...

We required a London hotel for one night as grand-daughter was singing at the Royal Albert Hall with her school choir and we were unable to return home after the event had finished. Thanks to our friend Laura who lives nearby we followed her recommendation and booked the Seraphine hotel, Kensington Gardens. A quirky place but what a find. The...

Seraphine Hotel, is part of the best western group which have a good standard. Small fronted entrance amongst the restarants and shops, all up stairs ! Not a very good welcome, we found that the male receptionist had a bad attitude ! Good size rooms very modern. Breakfast was continental plenty of variety of meats and cheeses and fresh rolls.

Love this hotel. It is in the middle of Kensington, close to restaurants, pubs, clubs and the tube. Yes the room are not to big, but they are super clean and very comfy. The staff is nice and their breakfast keep you going for the morning. Perfect location for when visiting London.

Ok, so I only gave it three stars. The reason? Because of our room size. It was very small and the bed was too making it not the most comfortable weekend my girlfriend and I have encountered. I'm 17 stone and 6ft 2" tall so not the smallest often! However, the room itself was clean, tidy and had nice decor....

Called here for the night in order to visit The Albert Hall. The hotel room was spotless and very adequate for our needs- the en suite looked newly refurbished. Breakfast( included) was first class and there was plenty . Staff were attentive and friendly and the Manager was really good. Hotel is ideally placed for The Albert Hall and is...

I would endorse everything that has been said by previous travellers. The room was small but big enough for our needs. It was spotless and despite being just across the corridor from reception, very quiet. Through our hobby, geocaching, we found Holland Park and had a lovely walk around there early morning. It was so much larger than we expected,...

I had a fantastic stay here. Yes, the room was a tad small but I had a single so that was to be expected. Luckily, I read the reviews and knew to look for a small doorway off Kensington High Street. By the way, can we just talk about the location for a sec? Two blocks from the Tube and...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
