Check-in: Uncomplicated, and pleasant, with Peter explaining facilities available. Room: Wow. Large, spacious (by London standards), clean, and clean modern decor. Small functional kitchenette with microwave, hob, fridge and dishwasher. Nespresso machine, tea, cookies, UHT milk provided. Bathroom equally spacious, with adjustable height shower (no rainfall shower, if that matters to you). Small settee at the end of the bed to stretch out and relax. Chromecast TV allows you to project your device to the TV, if necessary. Comfortable bed, with reading lights and USB charging sockets next to the bedside. Small table with chairs, for a quick bite to eat, but perhaps not so good for laptop/work related activities. Room relatively quiet, very little noise intrusion from outside, occasional noise from corridor, but all in all, pretty quiet. Facilities: Breakfast (7-11 am weekdays) served at lobby lounge. Continental and simple; best to inspect prior to purchase to decide value for money. Lounge was clean and open to guests, with 24/7 coffee/tea available. Staff: Friendly throughout. Room wasn't serviced for 2 night stay, but that was OK with me. Location: A little bit of a walk from Underground or Overground station (15 mins brisk walk), but buses available. Lots to eat in the vicinity, looks like quite a thriving and mid-scale neighborhood. 10 mins brisk walk to the British Design Centre. (Minor) Grouses: No shower gel provided (but shampoo, tiny bar of soap and body lotion). More eco approach would be to provide dispensers for the above, rather than single use plastics. Detergent and sponge provided for kitchenette, but no dishcloth or disposable wipe (paper towels provided, though!) Summary: Modern, spacious, comfortable. Would stay again, in a shot!…
Incredibly quiet location, tasteful large rooms with high ceilings, well equiped kitchenette. Perfect for a few days in the bustling city ! Cannot comment on the breakfast as we made good use of the kitchenette facilities. Be aware that the rooms are made up only every 5 days, rubbish is collected daily though if put outside.
Hotel was in a great secure location, The room was spotlessly clean, huge by London standards and well equipped for two people. The Staff were really helpful and organised for a cake that I had delivered to the hotel to be kept safely in their fridge until we needed it. I mentioned we were there for a family birthday celebration and was surprised by a bottle of prosecco and some extra glasses in our room on our arrival. Such a lovely and thoughtful touch. Will definitely look forward to staying here again
I would just like to thank the staff for their accommodation and looking after myself and my bridal team. Their were 30 of us including family and they looked after each an everyone of us and made sure everything was ok from booking the hotel to check out. The staff were so polite and the rooms were so clean and amazingly decorated. Would like to say a big thank you to everyone and Islington who made my wedding day stay so blissful :) I definitely recommend staying here
We enjoyed our stay at Citadines Islington. It was clean, beds were very comfortable, two teens slept on sofa bed and were happy to see it's 2 single beds that fold out so they didn't have to technically share the bed. We also got an extra bed that was placed next to the sofa. There was a washer/dryer combo unit in the apartment and though it was nice to have, it took 2 hr 30 min for ONE small cycle and the dryer didn't get clothes dry, still damp. But it was free so, can't really complain too much. I liked having coffee in the morning with the machine downstairs and the kids enjoyed hot chocolate from the machine, as well. Towels could be changed by just dropping the old towels at your door and would have to pick up a new towel at the front desk. We were there 6 days and no cleaning at all which was stated , would clean after the 6th day, if you stay longer. Though when I first checked in the receptionist told me I would have a room clean on day 4 which never happened. Later confirmed with another receptionist that they don't clean till after day 6 but we left so never had that room clean. The only negative was there was a sewer like smell coming from the bathroom which was unpleasant when we would come back at the end of a day. I bought Febreeze and a bleach bathroom spray at the local grocery store, and used it daily to hopefully cut down on the rancid smell which helped slightly. The location is wonderful. So many places to eat and shop nearby and very close to the tube. I used apple maps and it made it look like the walk was 15 minutes but I think really it was 5 or so to the tube and there was much to see on the walk so made time pass by quickly. It was close to Kings cross so if you had to taxi/uber with your bags, it wasn't too expensive (15 or less pounds) which we did to catch the Eurostar to Paris at the end of our 6 days in London. Overall a good stay for this family of 5.…
Needed a hotel for a trip to Almeida Theatre and so glad I went with my gut and chose this hotel. I normally tend to stay around Leicester Square/The Strand for my West End Shows but decided due to location and reviews this would be best. If arriving at Kings Cross just jump on any bus going to St Mary’s Church on Upper Street . Walk through a passage way and you come out by Odeon Luxe and Dine. Hotel is just up the stairs and to your left. Chris on reception was so helpful with local knowledge and when he said Almeida was 1 min walk round the corner he wasn’t wrong. I had a Deluxe Studio and it was brilliant, plenty of space, kitchen area had everything - toaster, kettle, microwave, hob, fridge and dishwasher. Lots of plates, utensils, pots etc. Very spacious bathroom with walk in shower. In vicinity lots of great restaurants/bars shops on Upper Street I didn’t leave the area that weekend. I’d definitely return as so central for anywhere in London. If I was moving to London and looking for somewhere to stay as a stop gap for buying/renting a flat this would be ideal as a Sainsbury’s on Upper Street for all food/essentials.…
Lovely room and very comfortable beds Excellent kitchen facilities. The rooms were quiet and well fitted. Ver clean. The staff are absolutely fantastic and returned an item I had left in my room by post
Spacious, modern, clean apartment, fully equipped to cook. The complimentary coffee and water is a great touch. The staff is very friendly and helpful, in particular Chris which made our stay absolutely great by ensuring we would have all the comforts and feel at home. The location is also fantastic, as the structure is in the centre of Islington with lots of nice restaurants and shops but it also feels very quiet and far away from the traffic and noise as soon as you step in. Highly recommended and ideal for long stays!
Myself and my daughter stayed at citadines Islington for over three months and honestly felt like a home from home! Nice spacious one bedrooms in a great area! The staff were really accommodating, friendly lovely people I particularly would like to Thank wonderful Chris, Adriana, Peter, Bezawit, and Rachel and the Concierge Manager Ionel ! The service at Citadines Islington was first class!! Professional, helpful staff. welcoming smiles and friendly personalities really made my stay exceptional!! I can honestly say everyone of them went the extra mile to make me and my toddler feel welcome during our stay. Thank you all! Would definitely visit again!
All the staff was incredibly helpful and nice. My room was lovely, comfortable, warm in the winter months, and above all, quiet, which is something value a lot. Also, the location was great. I felt at home, and will stay here again the next time I'm in London.
