My husband and I stayed at the Athenaeum for 7 days and loved every minute of it. The hotel is chic and in the heart of Mayfair, but far enough away from the tourist-thick areas so it is peaceful. The rooms are stylish but comfortable, and the bar has great drinks and little nooks for private conversations. All around amazing-...

Good hotel in an ideal location if your running the London Marathon! Good service and a few good little extras. My only advice would be don't order the deluxe burger in the restaurant. It has to be cooked well done (they told us before it was cooked to be fair - apparently 'it has to because it's the law') which...

If anyone read this don't stay at this hotel as this is the worst hotel, I have ever stay at, also I found the staff useless as well as they didn't do much about the issues cause as I try to resolve it with them but wouldn't listen or help at all.

We went for a 2 night stay with 4 other family members and had 3 rooms. Staff were very attentive and helpful without being over the top. Would look to upgrade room next time to one with a park view. Breakfast was very good but didn't eat in on the evening

The Athenaeum was a great pick for our family of four. We stayed in a Residence which was perfect for my wife and two boys, age 6 and 9. ___Room The bedroom was very nice and the living room was spacious. The bunkbed for the boys was tucked away in the side of the living room so it never interfered...

Great comfortable, casual, family-friendly hotel perfectly located next to Green Park and Hyde Park. Not for those looking for fancy and mega-luxurious; but great balance of comfort, good service and informality. Staff is friendly, helpful, accommodating. Highly recommend.

Lovely room and very enjoyable and comfortable stay but so glad we saw the price list in the room before we ate or drank. Really, £12.00 for a standard pack of shortbread biscuits and £7.00 for a bag of Bassets liquorice all-sorts?! We were scarred to have anything. We also thought the 12.5% aded to food bills was unwarranted. I...

Great hotel in a prime location for easy access to all main sites. Purchased through Secret Escapes and really was lovely. We felt a bit out of place in the hotel bar when we just wanted to relax after a long day meandering London so ordered too service instead in the comfort of our bed. The staff are great, really...

Staying in Mayfair

Neighbourhood Profile
Mayfair
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
