I have been to many afternoon teas and this is on par with many of the expensive afternoon teas. Fantastic value for money and a very nice boutique hotel and setting. Nothing to fault and a very lovely experience. very nice china.

Ever since we retired from London [after almost 40 years there] we've been looking for a happy London "home" for our visits. Now, after 2 week-long stays in Number Sixteen, we've FINALLY found it. So Thank You, Number Sixteen. The Good? Everything:- For us Number Sixteen's position, 2 minutes from South Ken Tube, is perfect. For us, the entire "feel"...

I was a bit scared at first to book a 12 sqm room in a hotel, since I usually struggle even with 18. However, I really wanted to try Number Sixteen, paying more or less affordable price. I was pleasantly surprised that the ceilings are really high, and this makes the room very comfy and not claustrophobic at all. Besides...

Number Sixteen is so charming and restful that my husband and I, exhausted from jet lag, didn't even bother going out two of the 5 nights we were there, and just had dinner in the casual and very pretty dining room. Then crawled back into our very cosy bed. The hotel is made up of several townhouses put together (one...

I was so happy to arrive at Number 16 after the buzz of getting in to London. Checking in, I was helped to my room by very welcoming staff. Whilst it's centrally located, the rooms made me feel cosy and tucked away. Ideally located, I was able to get to all of the Museums and spend time enjoying lovely little...

I just spent a fantastic week at Number Sixteen. I'd stayed here about 16 months ago and was happy to return. Everything, from my room, to the food and the service, was perfect. My room was small but great for one person, quiet and with a view of the garden. The staff was amazing, especially Mireia at Reception who did...

Over the holidays, 14 of us enjoyed a reunion over afternoon tea in the Orangery at Number Sixteen. It was a wonderful setting, excellent service, good tea and food, lovely table settings (with custom Wedgewood), and staff made us feel welcome to linger for 2-1/2 hours, well into the early evening. Along with a very reasonable price, there was a...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
