This is our special place in London! Location location location! Outstanding service, delicious food, comfortable and spacious rooms! Very close to the tube and walking distance to many places! After every visit we find our selves trying to figure out when we will come back! Don't hesitate and book this hotel!

Like my title, the only negative was that my stay was too short albeit four nights (25-28/06). Room #9 for those who want more space and a bathroom with two vanity basins! Even though the room faces the road and is in the basement with carefully treated windows so outside does not see the inside, we totally loved our room...

Loved this hotel. We liked the location just south of Hyde Park. The staff was lovely and helpful. Our room was clean and quiet. I felt like we were staying at a friends very nice home. We only ate breakfast there so I can't comment on the restaurant. Their breakfast buffet was nice with the typical choices. But it seemed...

This is my 4th stay at Number Sixteen and I'm ready to just move in and call it "home." Love the location in South Kensington, tucked off the busier nearby streets, on tree-lined, scenic residential Sumner Lane - a stone's throw from South Kensington Tube station, ATM machines, Starbucks (but I prefer Pret a Manger next to Starbucks for healthy,...

The question left was not should I stay again, rather how can I stay longer and how soon. Staff enjoy what they are doing, give you a tour of the premises and are on hand but not intrusive. Great stay, planning my return

We stayed at Number Sixteen on the 21-23 May 2013. The hotel staff is friendly and accommodating, the decor is done in great taste, the afternoon tea and cuisine were very tasty and done nicely. The rooms were quaint and colorful. The library, sitting parlor, restaurant and courtyard were what made our decision to stay here. We enjoyed our visit....

One of Kit Kemp's beautifully furnished hotels in London with an outdoor garden off the small breakfast room. This is a real retreat from the outside world but still close to everything. South Kensington tube is just round the corner and there are plenty of restaurants within 5 minutes walk. Helpful staff and lovely public areas. Definitely one of my...

We would highly recommend afternoon tea at Number Sixteen to all those not into fancy names but are seeking the quality of fine food, excellent service in a relaxed atmosphere. We had walked passed Number Sixteen on a previous visit to London and thought how lovely it looked, unfortunately when booking this trip to London Number Sixteen was fully booked....

If you scroll down far enough you are likely to find a number of our reviews of Number Sixteen - a boutique hotel converted out of a row of townhouses. Decoration is superb and this treasure does not have the feel of a hotel - more a guesthouse. Some of the rooms are small so you need to know what...

This is a cute little hotel in a trendy neighborhood. The food was good, though not really stellar. The rooms are nicely decorated, though my husband didn't much like the chairs. He prefers cushy chairs with arms for relaxing at the end of the day, and our room definitely didn't have that kind of chair. It was still a lovely...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.

Number Sixteen forms part of a row of gleaming white stucco mid Victorian townhouses. It originally opened in the 1980’s and instantly became popular with discerning travellers looking for an alternative to the larger Park Lane hotels.
