My favorite hotel in the world. I would rate it five stars just for the setting, location, and luxury but full disclosure.... I am terribly biased. My first stay there years ago was with a date. By the time we returned to the U.S., I knew she would be the one. Some wonderful years and two children later, I blame...

Lovely boutique hotel a stone's through from South Kensington tube. Has a neat garden area perfect for an aperitif or after dinner drink outside or in the gazebo. Close to everything, including shops, parks and museums.

I booked this hotel because of the location without any preconceptions or recommendation. I am glad to report it was truly delightful and my new favourite place to stay in London. The hotel comprises of three townhouses but is still quite small. London is one of those cities where the rooms are always tiny but the interior of this hotel...

We recently completed a four-day stay at Number Sixteen before continuing on to Florence, and were delighted with the experience. The staff helped us make the most of our visit, getting us tickets to the last performance of Midsummer Night's Dream at the Globe, reservations at local restaurants, and helping us decipher the London Underground. In fact, the personal service...

This boutique hotel was perfect for our business trip to West London. We are familiar with Firmdale hotels and didn't know what to expect from their smaller properties. The staff-accomodation-food were excellent.I was a student in the area 50 years ago and have visited often making our base the Egerton House hotel .I will now be trying Hotel 16 again .We had...

This is an excellent boutique hotel with 40 rooms, owned by the Ferndale Group who also own Charlotte Street Hotel and others. Beautiful decor and lovely garden, set on a quiet residential street in South Ken, a stone's throw from South Ken tube. Didn't eat here but the room was really nice, comfortable bed, modern shower room and all in...

What a lovely stay staff were friendly and very professional room was exquisite, everything is to a high standard, but still comfortable and cosy. This is a fine example of a boutique hotel. Gardens were relaxing lovely to have breakfast on the terrace (as long as nice weather).

A lovely quirky hotel with a small courtyard garden hidden away in the hustle and bustle of South Kensington - a great place for afternoon tea with friends. A few minutes walk from the underground. The food was beautifully presented: all very tasty and the deep fried courgette flower was especially tasty (having never had one before). Very good value...

Sumner Place is a little street in South Kensington that leads to Onslow Gardens and in easy proximity of South Kensington Station from where you reach everything you want... there you find Number Sixteen and can say you are home... beautifully decorated by interior designer Kemp, you really enjoy the common areas and receive an excellent service at any time......

A truly fantastic hotel which feels like home. Super chilled out areas to relax with a drink and newspaper - garden area really private. Amazing, amazing service... We were spoiled 😃 we had afternoon tea and a glass of champagne which was fab. Definitely recommend.

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
