This is the worst hotel I have stayed in for a very long time. On arrival there was a sign that the reception is downstairs in the basement - it's actually located in what looks like a very untidy broom cupboard. The room allocated to me was very basic, with cheap furniture and heavily damaged, grubby walls. The carpet was...

Stayed here at this accommodation recently and I have to say that I was happy with the choice that I had made. I was looking for budget accommodation in the area and this popped up and having read some reviews I really wasn't sure ! However when I arrived a very nice girl gave me my keys and I was...

This place was cheap, the staff were cheerful & helpful but as a woman of very mature years it would have been really helpful to know that my room was on the 6th floor & that there is no lift! The bed was clean & comfortable , the shared, by many, bathrooms were spotless & I was most impressed that...

Curzon House Hotel London A hotel housed in a pretty old building, Curzon House Hotel is a budget hotel suitable for short stay. It has a waiting room cum TV room near the reception counter in the basement. The rooms are of moderate size without any TV and wear an old look. Breakfast is nice but there is no restaurant....

It is almost the home to me, five minutes away from earl's court/gloucester road tube, restaurants and supermarkets.

Stayed two nights in a basement room. Large room 7m x 5m plus en suite. Clean and comfortable. Only down side was bit of noise from reception area next door. There was a problem with cold water supply on the last night meant we had to use other close facilities but were given a refund on out booking. Staff helpful...

A basic hotel but we found it quite OK for a one night stay; we dropped our bags before going to an event at the Royal Albert Hall, returning to the hotel at 0100 for some sleep. Quiet area at night. We'd booked a twin room with toilet/shower but on arrival were told that there were problems with some rooms...

if you are looking for place to sleep close to Victoria Station, this is what you are looking for. Rooms are clean and cheap. Breakfast is just toast and cereals. Tea, milk and instant coffee (we didn't like it). Staff was very friendly and helpfull. Showers are not in the rooms and very very small. Don't expect any comfort here....

This is a very basic hotel, a group of 4 of us stayed one night before the NFL game at Wembley in a shared room with 4 beds, the room had no tv and a shared toilet, it suited the purpose though as we only dropped our bags off before going out on the town, only returning very inebriated hours...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
